My three children (age 11, 13, 13) and I stayed at this Residence Inn for three nights as we ventured about Southern California. We had a room with a loft so there were two queen beds and a sofa bed, kitchen, two bathrooms. Our room was pretty dated and beaten up a bit, but it was clear that the hotel was being renovated as parts were blocked off and significant work was being done by multiple trades people. Thus, I presume the entire property is undergoing a renovation & face-lift and that will improve things here immensely. Because of that likely upcoming renovation to our part of the property some things had been left unattended - which is understandable, but still disappointing. The shower only had a HOT option, the shower drain was clogged, the kitchen sink disposal didn't work, and the ceiling fan didn't work. However, when reported their maintenance came quickly and repaired each item, so that was very satisfactory. Let's assume with renovations those issues are all behind them. The property itself is almost perfectly located in Southern California; midway between SNA & LAX airports and literally right next to Long Beach airport if you happen to fly Southwest. 10 minutes to downtown Long Beach and entertainment area, 25-45 minutes (depending on traffic) to Hollywood area as well as Anaheim area. Easy access to 405 freeway right next to property. Fast food, grocery, Target, etc all nearby. Lots of laundry machines on property (you pay, but they provide detergent), and the pool is great for families. Quite a few chairs & tables, and big enough for the kids to have fun. Breakfast was included in our rate, and was acceptable but not great. Staff at front desk, housekeeping and maintenance were all very friendly and helpful. Overall, with the ongoing renovations completed I would definitely return to this property.
