Friendly, helpful staff; super clean rooms; comfortable bed; room has everything you will need; terrific downtown location- you can literally walk to the entire main area including the beach from the hotel. No complaints at all. Would stay here again!

We have stayed in many different rooms in this Inn as we visit Long Beach often. Extra clean, comphy beds and pillows, very spacious rooms great attention to every detail. The king one bedroom is our home away from home. Office staff very helpful and friendly.

We stayed for almost a week. Our room was like a small apartment with a stove and a full-size fridge. The beds are comfortable. The pillows are nice, but I had brought my own. I never did find a luggage rack, but I made it work. They do have a decent wi-fi. The room was clean. The staff brought us an extra fan and extra towels. Everyone was friendly. The property is quite impressive, not far off the beach. Most of the time, we could park our rental car right out front of our room. We can't wait for our next trip.

I have had some time to think about it (Covid brain fog is real) and so now I will go into great detail. My husband were staying at The Coastal Inn and Suites for my birthday (August 11th); our 3rd year Anniversary (September 5th); and a 2-day charter salmon fishing trip out of Bouy 10. We were joining a group that were already staying in and around Long Beach and Illwaco, Washington. On August 16th my husband and I both tested positive for Covid-19. I reached out to The Coastal Inn and Suites through its subsidiary, ******* because we both were not able to go to Long Beach and salmon fishing because we both have Covid-19 and the CDC requires that you isolate. Which we both did until we both tested negative on August 25th. I kept in contact with ******* Travel Team they kept trying to reach someone at The Coastal Inn and Suites to either refund the price of our hotel or to pick another three dates. Finally, on August 19th management from The Coastal Inn and Suites informed ******* Travel Team “Unfortunately though, after speaking with The Coastal Inn and Suites, they're holding to the original cancellation policy for your booking and declined your refund request.” This was so disappointing all the way around. As I read through the email, it sounds like The Coastal Inn and Suites did not care about the well being of their customers and they would not even try to coordinate some other arraignments to help accommodate someone with got Covid-19. Not even different dates which is what I had requested and not just a refund.

They said …either pay another $243 or get out. This is at 10pm after checking in at 3:45pm, visiting friends, and returning to Coastal I&S for the evening. I booked the room on 8-18-2022 for Sat 9-3 after calling 15 hotels in Long Beach & Astoria over two days through 360-940-0490 which is a Frank Hotels property Inn At The Sea. When we couldn’t get back in our room at 9:30 pm I called the front desk which is two blocks away from the C I&S property. They said I booked 9-2 not 9-3 through *******. That we have to pay another $243 or leave. We went to the front desk. They continued to lie to us. I had to walk away I was so angry. Merri paid them the second $243. We stayed the night having paid twice for possible fraud? I know how to place a day of the week with its corresponding day of the month. Coastal I & S does not, and they materially misrepresent. Why do they do that? Is it intentional? A scam? How often do they do it? No regulation/statute enforcement? I called my bank. They’re investigating while they have given me back $243. We’ve had bad experiences through third party booking. That’s why I only book airfare through Kayak, nothing else.

Be warned! If only I could give a zero star rating on this company, I would! Imagine walking into your assigned unit to find someone else’s belongings all over the place. We waited over a half hour outside for someone to come and assess the situation. The gentleman on duty told me he reset the lock code on the door after the last guests and stated he had no idea someone was in there. I should have seen the red flags when that same gentleman checked me in at the front desk without asking to see any identification or credit card. The front desk offered no solution and when we asked to use the restroom (after a long drive), stated we had to use the city/public restroom down the block. Feeling unsafe, and very skeptical about the the claims of the room being cleaned before our arrival, we asked for a refund which was given along with a half assed apology. So, on a holiday weekend, in a coastal town, we had no place to stay. Ended up driving an hour away to stay somewhere else.

We wanted an inexpensive place to stay while visiting relatives and this was it. Quiet. It was very small. Check in was by phone. We weren't told and didn't realize at first that when we left the room we needed to push the lock button on the code lock panel (I don't really know what it's called) so apparently our room was unlocked for hours. Lots to do in the area. Motel is not exciting but was adequate for our need.

This was the WORST stay ever! I have photos of the bathroom that would horrify you. Crayon drawn on mirrors, boogers on walls, red liquid splattered all over multiple surfaces, wood and paint chipping off, door latches that needed to be fixed, a toilet that wasn't even flushed when we got there and an office with a lighted open sign with nobody there. And to top it off, and alarm clock that went off at 5am waking us up after a much needed rest. We contacted management for weeks with pictures and were told we would not get a refund because we didn't tell anyone at the time, which we called and went to the office SEVERAL times and nobody was there and there was a busy signal or no answer. I also left AirPods in room and paid to have them sent and they only sent me only ONE of them. I made one last attempt today to contact them and after asking my name, they HUNG UP ON ME! Please beware. Their mission statement is noted on the desk and says they are "clean and hospitable and willing to resolve issues." Hypocritical. I am working with bank to get a refund as I was told several times they would contact me about my AirPod and that the owner would go over our situation in that WE DID attempt several times to find, call and contact anyone in the hotel the night we encountered the dirty bathroom. Nobody to be found. I only like writing positive reviews, but after being hung up on today, no way! That is not how you deal with a paying customer that is calling to follow up. And the worst thing is that, it is already predictable that this motel with follow up this review with something negative about me because they know how they handled this entire mess was appalling. There should be no excuses. Do not stay here! If I could opt to not put any stars, I would. I hope this saves a nice family from staying here. Read the other negative reviews and trust them.
