I stay in 5-star hotel 150 nights per year and never experienced a stingy and rule managed place like this before. I WILL NEVER COME BACK. The Ned is a overly pretentious rip-off place that charges extra fees and service charges for virtually everything that I would expect as normal standard. This destroys the overall atmosphere and makes it a soulless place that does not feel 5-star at all. The mediocre staff seems to know that and does not even pretend. Examples: (1) If you book a room with breakfast, your breakfast order is limited to 28 GBP per person and they put a service charge on the total breakfast order. Ridiculous, and a vibe killer. (2) If you book over a booking platform they will charge 15 GBP per person per day plus service charge (!) to access the gym and pool area. The pool is even small and noisy. (3) At Parlor Bar they had an average hotel band playing on a Friday night and charged a 20 GBP โ€œticketโ€ per person just to sit down andhave drinks there. Ridiculous. Also donโ€™t expect a fashionable crowd. They go elsewhere in London. No need to dress and look good. The overall crowd is not much different than in a waiting room at Paddington Station. Actionable feedback for hotel management: (1) Only offer rooms on you own website and not on booking platforms which you discriminate by dubious fine print terms and conditions. (2) Increase the room rates (if you have to) and include everything a 5-star hotel should include and ramp up hospitality. (3) If you stingily have to limit the breakfast order, it would feel better if you limit the number of a la carte dishes that can be ordered per person instead of limiting the order amount to 28 GBP and there should be no breakfast service charge added to the hotel bill if a room is booked including breakfast. Another additional service charge will also be added to the room rate. The way it is now, The Ned is NOT WORTH IT AT ALL.

Unfortunately, we received a barrier-free room without needing it, so we were very disappointed with the spartan furnishings, which absolutely did not match the room price

Yes, stunning building, but service and room doesn't live up to expectations. Some staff quite "snobby" and dismissive, some very friendly though - just inconsistent service standards. Sink in bathroom needs maintenance, water took a long time to drain. The room type (cosy) felt a little claustrophobic also as you just look into buildings. Had the "do not disturb" sign on the door, get someone knocking on the door who said "just checking if someone's in here" - not acceptable! Lots of loud banging doors and drunken people throughout the hotel. Do not recommend this place if you're looking for some peace and quiet. Based on my first experience I will not stay here again, there are better places for less!

Beautiful hotel, lots of restaurants and bars . Wonderful array of toiletries and brekkie in bed was a lovely touch.

On a recent visit to London we decided to have Sunday breakfast away from the usual eateries. We chose the restaurant at The Ned Hotel. It was good, as casual walk-ins, to be warmly welcomed. The Receptionist (Sandra) was a true ambassador for the hotel! She gave us our choice of table and our Server (Diamond) was immediately on hand with menus. Diamond also provided us with some info on the hotel - and itโ€™s global reach. What a great place for a full traditional breakfast. From the silver service to the food itself (and the delicious leaf tea) it was a perfect start to our Sunday. We had never heard of The Ned but now plan to return, if only for the delicious breakfast.

This hotel did not suit me. I was travelling as a single woman and my stay was not business related. I was simply a tourist. The downstairs lobby area has nine different bars and restaurants and they are busy from early in the morning until last thing at night I found the atmosphere to be oppressive and two consecutive evenings Icouldnโ€™t even get a cocktail before I went out to the theatre because all the bars were full, the hotel catersfor the general public not just guests and is often full of loud boorish men. Even at breakfast there is no peace. The joint is full. I felt as a single female. I was always sidelined and stated somewhere in a corner.!! the hotel is expensive and for that price there should be some more comfortable and peaceful for guests

This was our 2nd visit to the restaurant having had a good experience on the first This visit was however very disappointing We visited on a Saturday night The singer started and announced what a โ€˜crapโ€™ audience she had ? Strange thought we were there to dine Then the food Starters were mediocre Mains were awful The steaks were swimming in sauce Had the pork tomahawk - it was massively over cooked and dry Did mention the food was brought baked Alaska which wouldnโ€™t have been our choice was ok Was a special occasion shame didnโ€™t live up expectations

Stayed for a business trip - the rooms are small, noisy and dark. Hard to justify staying there if you intend to get any sleep. Come for the bar and restaurants, but stay at the Pan Peninsula close by instead. Not entirely sure what constitutes 5 stars at this hotel.
