Ty Mawr Country Hotel

My husband and I came for lunch today and both had the rolled pork. We were extremely pleased with everything on the plate, all of which was so full of flavour but the roasties were the nicest I have ever had, we shall definetly be back and will recommend to friends.

A fairytale spot in South Wales. Truly. Every little thing perfect. However, if you're there in a Sunday night, eat at the inn as nothing else is open. We so enjoyed this place.

Warm welcome from David . Coffee & cake in the lounge in front of the wood burner . The hotel is small & intimate with an interesting history . Situated in a lovely rural village in beautiful countryside. . Evening meal & breakfast local produce where possible . Very comfortable bed & quilt ( Hungarian goose) . Relaxing stay .

Very friendly welcome, excellent room (amazingly comfy mattress), a first class meal - would definitely book again. And as we left on a Saturday morning, we bought their own freshly baked bread and Portuguese tarts - this was open to all locals who were coming in knowing how good the produce was.

We’ve just returned from a short break and had a thoroughly lovely time. Tŷ Mawr is an attractive country house in the centre of the village with a beautiful garden. The hospitality is superb, David and Gill can’t do enough to make your stay enjoyable. They’re helpful and accommodating without being overly intrusive. They have a lovely golden retriever called Buster who is very well behaved. There are 2 lounge areas which are comfortable and homely. The rooms are well appointed with wonderful comfortable beds and high quality bed linen & toiletries. The food is locally sourced and is outstanding. The breakfasts are excellent, and there is a lot of choice. Homemade focaccia bread before your meal in the evening, with wonderful tasty food from a small well thought out menu, which is plentiful. The hotel opens as a bakery on a Saturday morning for the locals. It’s obvious that David & Gill are well established within the local community. On the day we checked out local car enthusiasts were having their monthly meet, with their vehicles on display in the hotel car park. There is a lot to do in the area, more than we were able to see during our stay so another visit will be required. We particularly enjoyed The Botanical Gardens. If you’re looking for a peaceful, small well appointed hotel with fabulous food and hospitality then Tŷ Mawr is a must.

Fabulous boutique hotel with great staff - we booked really late and took their last room as they were catering for a wedding the day after our stay. its a small set up with a small team who work really hard to be a part of the local community serving locally sourced food and baking all manner of fab fare for sale in both their own restaurant and at reception as a local bakery - Their bread is amazing! - Our room was nice and big plus they welcomed our 2 dogs one of which is huge, dinner was lovely, we had guests join us so had pretty much the whole menu. We'll stay again when the weather warms a little - its a beautiful setting and a lovely part of Wales. I'd totally recommend it as fab place to stay.
