The Litchfield Inn

We cannot say enough good things about the Litchfield Inn. My husband and daughter were staying for two nights after summer camp. Unfortunately, their rental car broke down and they had quite an ordeal. However, the staff at the Inn came to their rescue. The staff worked tirelessly to make sure that their car was towed and that they were safe. Their genuine concern for their well-being did not go unnoticed. It’s rare to encounter such thoughtful and attentive service, and their efforts were deeply appreciated. The exceptional service made a lasting impression, and we are genuinely grateful. The property is also beautiful. We highly recommend and will be back!

We enjoyed our stay at this inn. You can tell that the owner Syed takes great pride in his establishment. The updates he and his wife are working on are really pretty and thoughtful. Our room was spotless and so great to be able to bring our dogs. Great hiking nearby and fantastic restaurants. This place will be even more lovely when their pool gets put in. Very good value with a plentiful breakfast buffet and our room was gorgeous with a soaker tub. We’ll be back.

I love this place. I have stayed here on five seperate trips the past year, visiting my son in boarding school nearby. Lobby area, plenty of sitting rooms hang out areas, fireplace set-ups - all high end — designed with New England charm. Reservations, front desk service and flexibility are very customer-centric. Judy up front, in particular is fantastic. Rooms are great and many have been upgraded/refurbushed recently. I met the owner on this trip and I can see where the customer-first approach comes from. Rates are on higher side for area/region, but aligns very well with the offering.

We had a basic room which was spacious with comfortable beds and nice touches like robes and slippers. We appreciated the design - clean, modern but still warm. Our bathroom felt a little dated, but the staff and shared spaces more than make up for it.

Absolutely wonderful Inn, we will definitely be back. Quaint little towns to visit in the area, lots of wineries and hiking trails. Truly a hidden gem of an area. We stayed in the Scholar room and felt like we were transported to another era. Very clean, well maintained, and excellent service. The surrounding property is beautiful.

I can’t say enough great things about this hotel. The room was spacious with two Queen beds. The description said it was a replica but you would swear you were in someone’s home from the 1800s that was converted. There were multiple lounge spaces throughout the inn if you wanted to sit and read a book or okay games. There were Scrabble boards, tic tax toe, checkers. A big great room with seating and a big fireplace. Complimentary wine, coffee and tea. And a wonderful complimentary breakfast in the morning. A definite must if you have plans in the area or if you just want to get away overnight. Highly recommend!

My husband and I had such a wonderful weekend at the Litchfield Inn! It was both classic and modern, elegant and charming! The interior details were so thoughtful as were the added touches such as a hot cocoa bar and Adirondack chair seating by the outdoor fire pits. Arriving at night, the lights and greenery and ribbons and trees were so inviting and set the holiday mood! Waking up in the morning in the spacious, beautiful, wallpapered room with the fire going, a view of the misty trees and property from bed or the small desk. We also attended wreath making class by the fireplace with cider and cookies and learned a new craft! I’d highly recommend having a stay for an iconic New England Inn experience - romantic and beautifully designed with the kindest owners and staff!

Well situated to explore the area, easy to find off the main road, plenty of parking and set back where you don’t feel like you are on a main road. There aren’t lots of places to stay in the area and you need to drive everywhere but there are places to eat or shop a very short drive away. It was clean, comfortable, seemed well maintained with various amenities to enhance your stay. Including a large fridge and small microwave in the room. As others have noted, the breakfast exceeded my expectations. When I imagined an “inn” and from the look of the photos posted, I expected something that felt more homey and quaint. This felt like a large ski lodge to me. For what is is worth, despite the volume of cars parked, I didn’t see lots of people. It feels that big. I stayed in a standard first floor room and found it ok comfort wise but noisy. Do the 2nd floor rooms have carpeting? You hear people walking around, suitcases being rolled around, and if they drop something it is loud. You also hear noise from the halls and people clomping up and down the stairs. If guests are hanging out outside in the back area, you hear them. I would stay again if in the area and if available would probably try one of the bespoke rooms for a different experience. The property does seem to be set up as a good local option for a corporate offsite or wedding venue. They have a number of communal rooms.
