Grim & creepy. Room tired & dirty. Plates & cutlery on a table but nothing to wash up with. No toilet lid. No hair dryer so pack one. Carpet in the bathroom. Dirty TV remote. Pitch black driving in at night & creepy. Only saw one staff member on arrival and nobody after that. Make sure you know where the button is to exit the gate as it's not where I was told in the text message. Grounds are neglected. It's like a film set for a horror movie, just creepy. Was very glad to leave. Never going back, just awful.

I stayed in a small self contained, selfcatering accomodation in the grounds of Lingwood Hall and found everything to be comfortable and clean. The lady who was in charge was very welcoming and extremely helpful, even bringing me eggs, bread and milk for my breakfast as I hadn`t come with anything for the morning. Lovely surroundings, very peaceful - a great place in which to relax and a very friendly cat called Alice. Can`t comment on other reviews here but my stay was ideal and would return any time.

From the second i entered the grounds to (sadly) leaving 5 days later everything was perfect. Spotlessly Clean Well Equipped kitchen and a comfy bed, considering i have travelled hundred's of miles for a holiday in the past finding a local gem like this when i needed a break was perfect ... Thank you so very much for everything

I arrived late and hadn’t received the relevant codes to gain access to the gate/ door. I called up and the lady there was very accommodating, welcoming me and showing me my room despite how late it was. I stayed for one night, only after arriving I looked at the reviews of which from my point of view must be outdated? The room I stayed in was immaculate, it looks as though it has been recently refurbished which shows investment. I had a great nights sleep, very peaceful! I will be stopping again when in the area.

On arrival we let ourselves in with a given code no. as advised by text. Passed some interesting family photos along the corridor, not a soul around except a lovely friendly little cat. Found our room no. 2. Oh dear, smell of dog hit us first, opened the windows. Mini fridge, toaster, microwave and kettle in the corner. Dirty cutlery on the table, no coffee. Went to the village for supplies, thought *********** stated bed and breakfast, but hey ho. Found a nice pub called Cantley cock and had a delicious meal. Back to the lodge for a good night's sleep, alas the boarding under the mattress was warped, so spent the night fighting to stay away from the edge for fear of falling onto the floor! Shower and bathroom was very nice, views lovely, grounds a bit neglected looking. Heaven only knows where the 'gym and swimming pool were as advertised in ***********. Gorgeous horses in a small field adjacent to the house, clearly well cared for by the amount of sacks of feed kept in the entrance hall. Dressed for the wedding we were attending the next morning, decided to pack up and not return for the 2nd night as we needed a good night's sleep so travelled home that night. Hosts were absent, man of the house would be available for emergencies only. Lovely little cat came to wave us off. Anyone heard of the phrase 'normal for Norfolk'?

We were on a family vacation in August 2023. The pictures have nothing to do with reality. The house is dirty and unkempt, there were cobwebs and dust everywhere. There was dust and cobwebs on the poles that went down. The carpets were black and if you walked on socks they turned black. In the bathroom there was a shower cabin that leaked and everything happened in water. There was a washing machine in there were clothes that were moldy. In the kitchen, everyone was sticky with misery, there was a vacuum cleaner that looked like it was from a construction site. There were cobwebs and spiders on all the lawns, the woman of the house said it was normal in the countryside. The chairs were rocking. There were all kinds of messes on the corners of the couch. In the photos, there is a pool that is not working, and it looks like a swamp. Location , it is very good, but the house is under all kinds of criticism.

Catherine is a wonderful, warm, interesting hostess. How much nicer to wake up to horses, rabbits and Alice the cat than a sterile Travelodge Room on a petrol station in Acle down the road.... Yes, you might encounter the old spider but as you're living in a beautiful old house in the country I really think that's fairly normal..... In short, if you're a city dweller you might find it a bit of a challenge but it's a very reasonable calm place to unwind.... I will return!

We went for a big weekend with the dogs, we had a cottage just for us and it was great. Owner very acessible and ready to help/sort anything. Beautiful place with horses right at our door. If going again to the surroundings, for sure we will come back
