Seahorse Oceanfront Lodging

The view is FANTASTIC. The room is in great need of updating/blowing up and starting over. There was dog hair on the couch when we arrived, they vacuumed it off after we complained. The tub/shower was plugged up the first night, so had to get up early the next day for plumber. The sink was plugged up last day...decent kitchenette. One bed in bedroom, one bed in living room (2 TV's), and one couch pull out bed that was more comfortable to sleep on as a couch. But, there were enough sleeping places for the 5 of us, and it wasn't a bad price. We'd stay there again, but I'm sure when they're done with remodel it will be much better.

I booked a room here but then after hearing they had a bed bug infestation I called to cancel my reservation which was well within the time frame of getting full a full refund back. They didn't refund my full amount so I called them a few days later and a Asian lady claimed she couldn't see my reservation so she can't give me my money. After arguing with her for 15 minutes she somehow magically found my reservation in "paper form" and said she would credit the rest of the money. A few days later I see that they then charged my card another $20 instead of refunding me what the owed! I called again today and same Asian lady with the same story that she can't see my reservation. She kept asking me what room number I stayed in and then kept asking me the same questions over and over again like she couldn't understand English! She eventually claimed that's he still couldn't find anything on my reservation there. She ended up telling me that I have to go through my bank to dispute the charges in order to get the double charge that they took from us back because they "aren't going to just take my word for it." Very bad customer service, very bad billing and tracking. I'm asuming they will be closed down soon when running a business like this. I would recommend staying anywhere but here!

This was by far the BEST property we stayed in on our road trip, and BEST for the value. Accommodations were great, view awesome, best fridge, too, compared to the other ones we had, and bonus beach weather at the Oregon Coast Will stay again, for sure! Tracy at front desk provided excellent customer service, along with the owner!!!!!

Horrible experience, terrible staff. Easily the worst lodging experience we've ever had, which is saying something. My son cut his knee open on their hot tub, which the proprietor seemed to find a subject of amusement rather than concern. Given the number of other negative reviews, it doesn't seem like this was an outlier... having a nice view doesn't make up for being poorly maintained and dangerous.

The Seahorse is meh. Oceanfront rooms have excellent views because the hotel sits on a bluff. There is beach access down a long flight of stairs. Great exercise! The problem is no effort is put into upkeep of the place. Things break and it seems they are left as is (e g., bathroom faucets in my room) or they are shoddily repaired. By the end of business hours, the hotel was sold out. I'm left with the feeling that mediocre is good enough in the opinion of the owner.

My partner and I booked the cabin to stay in for a romantic getaway. There was nothing romantic, or even comfortable about this place. I don't think anything in the cabin had been updated for 30 + years. Old couch that I was allergic to and couldn't sit on, dull kitchen knives, an old refrigerator that hummed loudly constantly, an old bed that dipped in the middle. This place lacked charm and enjoyment. The cabin was situated on the hotel parking lot, and behind the house was a construction site. I felt no peace here. The saving grace of this situation was the hot tub. The proximity to the beach and the hot tub are probably the only reasons you would want to stay in this shabby, run down cabin.

This motel was horrible. We were under the assumption that we had ocean view room with 2 queen beds. when we checked in it was non view room. This was the whole point of the room. We were able to get an ocean view room but with a king bed for an additional $136 for 2 nights. I would have left but money was already taken out when we booked the room. No Wi-Fi at all. A table that looked like it was from a garage sale. We didn't even try the hot tub and pool, Carrie told us she would refund us $75 for the confusion. Today she refunded only $50.This is an old and outdated motel. Never again.

Place is old and outdated. Bathroom toilet was lopsided, as was the shower. Curtains didn’t close, rust on the lamps. Wifi was spotty. Beds not comfortable. The list goes on…The only great thing was the ocean view from my window. I was content with that until I had a guy accuse me of taking the tv. (My son insists on bringing his own tv for video games) He yelled at me across the street asking where I was taking the tv. I informed him it was mine and I asked if he worked here. He said yes, so I told him to go check my room, to see the tv is still here, which it was. He continued to accuse me and yell at me in front of other patrons checking out of their rooms. Very unprofessional. I told him that’s why I leave my credit card on file, right? To charge me if I take anything and/or for damages. He called someone to let them know that I was out here taking a tv and I again told him to check my room, so he could see it was still there. I left and went to the front desk. They weren’t very nice or helpful. She seemed upset and annoyed that she had to apologize and she defended her employee. I’m very unhappy with their customer service. I do get that they are worried about their hotel belongings but again, that’s what my credit card on file is for. The guy could have talked to me discreetly, not yell from across the street. In the end, she told me, I get it, you won’t be coming back and we don’t want you back. Horrible, horrible, don’t recommend.
