White Mountain Motel and Cottages

Cute, comfy and clean. I've stayed in a traditional room here before, this time we splurged and got one of the cottages. As with the rooms, our cottage was bear themed. The pool looked immaculate; a beautiful river sits right beyond it if you prefer something unchlorinated. Would highly recommend.

Chose this lodging based on the reviews and had no regrets. Very comfortable and clean space to spend a night. Had a pool and outside activities, but we encountered bad weather so we hung out under the covered area with chairs. Easy check in and check out. Close proximity to all Lincoln and Woodstock activities.

We came up for a short 1 night getaway to visit Ice Castles on Jan 31. I had originally booked a corporate chain hotel in the area but then saw White Mountain Motel and Cottages and decided that it would be a wonderful experience to stay at a private family run business instead. We booked a cottage and it exceeded our expectations in every way! Check in was super easy, great friendly and direct communication through email prior. The cottage itself was so well appointed, had everything we needed and more... cozy lighting and accents-country cabin bear themed- I felt like we were staying somebody's vacation cabin. It was obvious that a lot of thought was put into the amenities in the cottage -Refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, a hairdryer and even a toaster! Very thoughtful charging stations on each nightstand. Parking right outside the cottage made for easy loading and unloading. We didn't use the TVs but there were two available. Our cottage, #3, had a little screened in porch which would've been wonderful in the summer - it had a boot tray for our hiking boots so we didn't need to bring them into the cottage. Honestly, the cottage was so comfortable and peaceful, we really didn't want to leave! We would've liked to have spent a few nights here and with the reasonable prices, we could have! Check out was simple, a dropbox for the key. I was happy to run into a staff member though on the way out so that I could let them know how much we enjoyed our cottage. This motel was also centrally located to the main roads, businesses and attractions of the area. Thank you so much for a great stay and we hope to come in the summertime to enjoy the pool and the fire pit as well!

My friend and I stayed here 3 nights in October 2023. It was easy to find and a great location. We stayed in a regular motel room with two double beds. It was a nice room and no complaints. The bathroom was small but this is an older motel where the bathrooms were not large anyway The room had a TV, refrigerator, microwave, and plenty of storage space. The windows rolled out so you could get fresh air. I would recommend this motel.

So happy I found the White Mountain Motel and Cottages. My husband and I and a friend of ours wished we spent more than one night there. It was super cute. We had cabin number 3. It had a little screened off porch, two comfy, bear-themed bedrooms, coffee makers, mini fridge, microwave, desk area, tv, and a lovely shared bathroom. It was clean and comfortable. A great HQ for exploring the area just a short drive to Franconia Notch. Situated along the river, it has a heated pool and a little bbq/picnic area. We didn't get to use either, but we did sit outside around the firepit and looked at the stars. A great way to relax after hiking. It was such a great location too. Easy to drive to anywhere in the area. Check in and out was all contactless.

It is located on the Pemigewasset River in the heart of New Hampshire's White Mountains and the Franconia Notch State Park, run by a family (recently changed). it's a quiet, peaceful, restful experience. We reached quite late and there was an envelope with the key in it with instructions. We stayed there for 2 days and for the whole stay - We did not even meet with the owners. it was 'contact-free' stay :P we did not get much time to explore the hotel surroundings, but they have a campfire (woods at a nominal charge) with cute chairs, also saw a swimming pool (ofcourse in summer), and what a sight it would be, having a campfire and river flowing near to you. The room was a little small - but sufficient. separate bins for trash (NH rule)- hot water - though sometimes you feel the heat is not sufficient in the room, but i guess its okay. Overall good stays and it's near Mt Washington.

My family of 4 stayed here for a couple of nights. The room was clean and the water was hot. We stayed in one of the cabins off to the side and my favorite part of the whole stay was sleeping with the windows open listening to the river behind the motel. They have a heated outdoor pool that was very clean and my kids enjoyed it. They have cornhole boards, a fire pit, and picnic tables by the river also we just weren’t there long enough to use them. They also have an access point to the river. It’s a little steep so be careful but the river is gorgeous. Only thing to be wary of is bear place across the river. Can be a bit noisy at times but nothing to crazy. We would be happy to stay here again.

We arrived after 9pm on a dark and rainy night, and found our room key in the cabinet as prearranged. (There is no front desk check-in at this establishment. But there is plenty of communication before your arrival about their procedures.) Our room had a lovely rustic look and was homey, spacious, comfortable, and clean. A perfect place to drop after a long day and a somewhat difficult drive in torrential rain through the mountains. The bathroom was bright and spotless, with new tile and shower treatment. We were here only one night, but we enjoyed our short stay and plan to book a room here next time we are in the area.

Our family of 3 stayed in cottage #1. It was cozy, quiet, very clean, and comfortable. The cottage is retro/old school but with thoughtful updates, such as nice TVs if you need them, DVD players and an extensive DVD library/bedside USB chargers/fire pits/Rennai heaters. The 2-bedroom cottages were occupied so we had to use the sofa bed - just a heads up that my husband found it uncomfortable (the main bedroom was quite comfortable) but my 7-year old and I had no issues with it. The kitchenette is well-stocked and the old-school appliances are amazing - they’re from an era when things were built to last. I ran into the nice Sunday manager at checkout. We hope to return.
