Acropolis Apartments

We spent 2 nights at the Acropolis Apartment (25-27 August), but in hindsight, we wish we had stayed longer! The apartment is fantastic in everything, from the location, to the services, to the staff! The location is excellent: immediately in front of the apartment there is a street with clothes shops, a bar-restaurant, and a supermarket immediately next door (it is practically immediately below the apartment, but pay attention to the prices, because they are a bit ' dear... it's better not to buy food there, but to eat in the bars and restaurants outside!). Less than 5 minutes on foot you reach the main road with a supermarket, a pharmacy and 2 stops for the KTEL bus immediately nearby: one towards Heraklion, (which stops both at the airport and in the center of Heraklion); and one that goes towards the east of Crete (therefore Stalida, Malia, Agios Nikolaos, etc.) In 5 minutes on foot you can also reach the road that runs along the sea, and by walking another 2 minutes you can directly access the beach! The room and the services offered are truly exceptional for the price paid! Our room was equipped with 2 very comfortable and modern beds, a spacious desk, a pouf, a large mirror, a French window that allowed access to a large balcony with a table and 2 chairs. The bathroom was equipped with a bathtub, with a curtain (I found the bathtub more comfortable than the showers with curtains found in other facilities in Crete, because with their showers you risk flooding the floor). The staff does not provide soap, so you have to make do to get it. In the corridor there are 2 very large wardrobes. The living room-kitchen space is large, with a single bed, a sofa, a table with 4 chairs, a small fridge, a television, and here too a French window that opens onto the balcony. The kitchen counter features a sink and induction hobs. There are cutlery, glasses, plates, toaster. However, a sponge and detergent for cleaning the dishes are missing. The wifi is free in the common areas, and NOT in the room. To have private wifi it seems to me you have to pay a price of around €3-4 per device, every night. The air conditioning is also NOT free, but you have to pay a price of €7 per night. The apartment has a large swimming pool (with sun loungers around it), accessible from 9:00 to 18:00 Close to the reception, on the ground floor, the apartment has common areas and offers a bar-restaurant service at very good prices! Overall the stay far exceeded our expectations :) We were really very satisfied!

La mia esperienza in questo hotel è stata semplicemente terribile. Si tratta di una struttura sporca, la cura degli ambienti è inesistente, ma ciò che rende il tutto ancora più intollerante è il personale alla reception, in particolare colui che si è interfacciato maggiormente con lui e che suppongo essere il proprietario, che definire "disonesto" e "speculatore" è dire poco. Appena arrivati, ci siamo resi conto che qui ogni singolo servizio è un pretesto per chiedere ulteriori soldi. Capisco le normali tasse di soggiorno richieste, ma prendere euro al giorno per il Wifi (per un totale di 7 euro a persona!) è ridicolo, la cassaforte costa 12 euro per una settimana, per non parlare del furto di 7 EURO AL GIORNO PER L'ARIA CONDIZIONATA!! Una settimana qui e paghi 50 euro solo per respirare decentemente di notte, e non pensiate che ci siano stati sconti: avevamo pagato l'aria condizionata per sei giorni perché effettuato il pagamento dopo la mezzanotte del primo giorno, e la sera prima di andare via il proprietario ce l'ha staccata lo stesso senza ritegno. Nonostante avessimo il volo il giorno seguente di mattina presto, ci hanno fatto pagare solo per poter usufruirne un po' la notte. Le stanze sono molto grandi, ma sono deprimenti, c'è polvere ovunque, al nostro arrivo abbiamo addirittura trovato della sabbia sotto il letto lasciata da chissà chi, e a detta loro la camera era appena stata pulita, ma indovinate, anche le lenzuola erano sporche non si sa di cosa. La "pulizia" avviene a giorni alterni ma è evidente che qui non sia proprio di casa. Il bagno semplicemente orribile, vecchio, sporco e con una tendina della doccia che è la cosa più antigienica che abbia mai visto. Non ci sono stati dati campioncini, nemmeno un po' di sapone per le mani, e le asciugamani che ci sono state date dopo qualche giorno erano bucate. Inoltre, anche la carta igienica scarseggia. Nonostante ciò, quella persona alla reception è stato assolutamente scortese e menefreghista. Non c'è attenzione per gli ospiti, soltanto un continuo richiedere soldi. Non consigliamo assolutamente questa struttura, l'isola di Creta è pienissima di hotel e appartamenti meravigliosi, ma Acropolis Apartments non rientra assolutamente tra questi. Risparmiatevi i soldi e soprattutto la terribile esperienza che abbiamo vissuto noi.
