Fairfield Inn by Marriott Lexington Park Patuxent River Naval Air Station

Fairfield Inn is trendy and up to date hotel. It offers a pool 4 feet deep and a small gym that includes a treadmill, bike and elliptical. The hotel was very quiet, bed was comfortable and the room was spacious. Its location is near a gas station and is near a shopping area filled with great stores and restaurant. Unfortunately I did not get to try the free breakfast. I over slept. It took a long time to check in as the associates were not attentive at reception. The room has a fridge, microwave and smart tv that you can watch netflixs on.

For a three night stay when I requested a late checkout during day two, .(as a benefit of a platinum loyalty member for 6 years) I was told I was offered that upon check in, which did not happen I assure you as I would have said yes immediately . I wrote to corporate which said they contacted the hotel and gave me a reference number. When I approached the desk the next morning I was treated like a 5 year old and led to the chart detailing the fine print of the terms of platinum membership. Honestly I have been loyal to Marriott properties for years but for Fairfield in Lexington park that loyalty only goes one direction and I will always look elsewhere. I was told the Hilton properties next door are great.

Our experience was not indicative of our usual Marriott stays as the king bed sunk in the middle and the air conditioner made a terrible racket all night long, including a slow dying sequence. That being said, when we notified the staff, they were quick to make sure to check everything out. They said they would have changed rooms for us, but it was late in the evening by the time we figured all of this out. The breakfast was great and had many options, including oat milk for those that are lactose intolerant. Would I stay here again? Yes, but I would check out the AC and bed first before I got comfortable.

As a Titanium Marriott Rewards member I travel a lot for pleasure and business. The manager Felicia and the building porter Brandon Morris went over and beyond to provide us with excellent customer service and address all of our needs and concerns. The property could definitely use some renovations but for the price and location it is worth the stay. And I would definitely be returning because of the service I received from the staff. GOOD: • Location: across the street from PAX Museum • Newer hotel in the area with big and free self-parking • Friendly staff • Continental breafast included. BAD: • Noisy, noisy and noisy with thin walls and windows — we’ve stayed at the other Marriott hotels, but this hotel may probably be the worst. • Unruly guests kept talking loudly and walking up and down the hallway even after midnight. • At around 12:30 AM on our second night, someone banged on our room door violently that nearly scared us to death! After a minute, I decided to open the door and saw a Black guy standing at another room about 20 feet away — the elavators are in between our room and his. I guess he might’ve probably got drunk badly and hit the wrong room. Then at 5:30 AM, an extremely noisy car was parking right on the front entrance!!! Our room was unfortunately on the 2nd floor near the front entrance. This hotel stay was a really bad experience for us.

I can’t in good conscience recommend staying at the Farfield Inn. When I travel I often like to walk around town and go to the local shops but I did not feel safe walking around Lexington Park. A lot of the shops were run down and there were a lot of rude individuals. If it weren’t so close to the base I wouldn’t have even stayed here initially. If I ever need to travel again I will be looking at hotels in a nicer area.
