Stonecroft Country Inn

I lived in New England for 12 years and I came back for a visit after 22 years of living in Florida. The place to go to see Fall foilage is New England. There is nothing like it in the US. You wind thru all the backroads full of the most beautiful colorful trees with the leaves scattering with every small wind. Then you get to the Stonecroft Inn in Leyward. Built in 1807 you can still feel the vibe of the time as you go up the stairs in the Big Barn building to the top floor where two large rooms reside. Huge king bed slathered in quality sheets and huge pillows. Turn on the fireplace and sit on the fluffy overstuffed leather couch or open the back patio door and take in the grandeur of the Fall. Huge bathroom with a bidet, whirlpool tub and massive shower. Then the breakfast in the dining room which holds 10 tables is surrounded by a stone wall from the 1807 era with a huge fireplace and windows that overlook the Fall foilage. The owners do a wonderful job on the breakfast and the coffee is quite good. I highly recommend paying a visit in the Summer and Fall. It is close to Mystic Seaport where there is lots of restaurants and attractions.

We had an incredible stay at Stonecroft. The property was beautiful and so well maintained. It was also so close to everything (no more than a 15 min drive anywhere). The room had nice touches and charm. The best part of our stay, though, was breakfast each morning. It was delicious and it felt like eating at home. The entire trip felt like staying with family. We would highly recommend this experience!!

We stayed in the Sarah Suite it exceeded our expectations. The suite was clean and had a gorgeous view of the grounds from our private balcony. We loved it was close to Mystic and Stonington where we found great restaurants and things to do. Jodi and Scott were great hosts and made us feel welcomed! Tanner their dog was the icing on the cake.

The Stonecroft Inn is a cozy country inn with traditional New England style furnishings. It is very cozy and clean. It is located on a farm-like setting in a rural area. We were served an excellent breakfast in the morning by an attentive and friendly staff. A relaxing and pastoral alternative to the ****** hotels in the area.

Our weekend at Stonecroft Country Inn was delightful! The inn itself was cozy, spotless, and peaceful. just the escape we were looking for. The innkeepers were warm and went out of their way to ensure our stay was perfect. My spouse, who can be quite particular about food, was thrilled with the care they took to provide him with a delicious breakfast tailored to his tastes each morning. Despite other guests being there, it was incredibly quiet; we hardly noticed anyone else. We’d definitely return for another stay!

Wonderful B&B located in a beautiful setting with beautiful landscaping. The outside is very well maintained and the inside is beautiful as well. The rooms are spacious and everything you may need is provided. There are DVDs and board games in case you are stuck inside. We had great weather during our stay.

This was our 5th trip to Stonecroft and it was great, as always. Jodi and Scott are welcoming and made our stay a very pleasant one. We like to Schubel Suite. It is immaculate! The breakfasts are delicious. The common areas are lovely. The Inn is near Mohegan, Mystic Seaport and the Mystic Aquarium. It is a great place to visit. We will be back!

Our stay was absolutely perfect! The room we stayed in was luxurious, the beds were plush and comfortable, and the whirlpool tub was a dream! The grounds are gorgeous, the inn is nestled into a charming wooded neighborhood away from the hustle and bustle of the nearby tourist areas but still only a short drive from any place you might want to visit. The breakfasts were divine and we felt so cared for by the innkeepers and the chef! We left feeling refreshed and rejuvenated in every way. Huge thanks to Jodie & Scott (and your sweet pup Tanner!) for making our vacation so memorable, we are incredibly grateful for the level of care that you put into making our stay as comfortable as possible! Renewed our wedding vows at this beautiful inn! Guests raved about the grounds and the country cottage atmosphere. The owners were super accommodating and so helpful. Our room was beautiful and breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend!
