This is a conveniently located hotel for the station and Telford town with free parking - main reasons for selecting it. We rang ahead requesting a top floor room and Sarah was able to oblige. She also checked us in politely and efficiently. The lift was clanky. Our room was fine though the desk was dusty as if cleaned at last check-out and unused for a few days. The shower was decent though showing signs of wear and use - patches of black mould around seals; in need of a decent scrub along the grouting and around fixtures. The 2 towel rails are one above the other so no practical way to dry both bath towels, hand towel and bath mat by hanging them separately. It was quiet. This hotel, or at least the room we were in, had done away with the net curtains (often manky so a relief there weren't any). The door was poorly fitting so I hung my coat on the handle to block some of light shining through the huge gap which made the room too bright for sleeping for me. The reason for such a low star level was on the Sunday morning, we saw several piles of clean bedding along the corridor ON THE FLOOR, which we thought must be for the rooms being vacated that morning. I reported this to reception, emphasising my disgust at the unhygienic practice. The first woman I spoke to, in Premier Inn uniform, walked off saying she'd get someone. Another woman came out and I repeated the complaint. She said she would deal with it and get things rectified. On the Monday morning, we saw a room being cleaned and prepared after use. Both pillows and the duvet were on the bedroom floor. This time I complained to Head Office who have advised they have passed on my concerns to the hotel management team. The TV guide pages were out-of-date; showing June and we stayed in September! Also very few Freeview channels available. We had breakfast at the Beefeater next door on the Monday. Usual issues - food ran out and had to be frequently topped; some hot, some not. Only 2 staff working as best they could in the restaurant; unaware how many in kitchen. Toasters very slow - we were advised of this by 1 of the staff.
