In the room less than 15 minutes and my wife finds a bug,she says she thinks the place is dirty and a dump.She says she doesnt feel comfortable because bad smell ,run down and worried the bugs might go home with us.I told her that i would get the bags and go to the car and for her to go to the desk and get refund.She was not staying there for any reason!!10 min later i see a lady in a truck pull up and go in,i think it is strange that the wife is not back.I go in to see whats up and the employees or owner are not going to refund .I tell them that this is not fair and the lady says she is going to call the cops on me for yelling,which i wasnt.She stated she wanted the police report so she could post online if i wrote a bad review.We were in the room 15 minutes here are some pics.This place is a dirty dump,pics dont lie!! LOOK AT THE PICS!!!!

Had mixed feelings about this hotel. It's an old building that has been updated over the years and it has an interesting history. The room and bathroom were clean and the bed was comfortable. However, we were on a road trip and had several items of luggage and there was no room for them. We were continually stepping over our cases. There was also limited hot water and no hairdryer which I ( wrongly) assumed was an essential item in every hotel. We didn't have an evening meal at the hotel restaurant but breakfast was included in our room rate. This was cooked to order and was nice enough but it took so long! After we had placed our order we waited 15 minutes to be told that one of the items was not available. When I looked at other reviews I noticed that this item seems to be continually out of stock. Overall I think the hotel is probably suited to travellers who want to spend a relaxing weekend in Lava Hot Springs and who don't have much luggage!

If you're looking for high class and opulence, look elsewhere--but if you're looking for a hole-in-the-wall historic getaway, this is your place. We loved the basic but timeless furnishings, the complimentary breakfast, and the relaxing hot springs. We'll be back!

This charming older Inn is just lovely. Set in a cute little town, the people do not treat you like a stranger. My sister and I were treated like a little family in a family. Our dogs were welcomed as well even though we had a German Shepard and Doberman. We were on off season so the rates were very reasonable. We had several choices on what hot spring tubs, indoors or out depending on weather we could use. The staff was courteous, knowledgeable and accomadating. We only ate at the resturaunt once but it was delicious. Since I have returned home I think of Lava Hot Springs often and with fond memory.

We are there, this is so poor room, so noisy Voice of clima, u cant sleep with opened door, train is every 5-10minutes to hear. Nothing special to see in this City, they have bad quality pools. Only good things is amazing local cuzine of food, u can it buffallo, elk, Moose steak. But they have only 4 table to sit per eating! And geyzir soda Springs, close there, not working!!

We recently headed to lava for a romantic weekend away it was hard to find a room sadly this was one of the only places I could find the pictures online made it look like a grand manor..... not at all lots of broken things window ac unit couldn’t keep up with the heat dirty ottoman dirty stained shower curtain... even the light bulbs in the hotel were all different colors makes for an odd night experience the lawn of the hotel looks unkept and is just not inviting staff was friendly but strict no late check outs and you get a breakfast voucher kinda felt like the owner was pinching penny’s... won’t stay again. Wasn’t worth the 344 dollars for 2 nights... no amenities in Rooms either.

This place is great wonderful wonderful staff, totally welcoming and sweet!! Definitely going back every year! Definitely eat at the restaurant most delicious prime rib on Saturday nights!! Fresh towels and robes..!! Felt very very comfortable for being an old hotel!

The hotel isn't much to look at from the road, but the historic inside was really interesting. They don't even consider the idea to let you check in early (there's a sign saying so) and they're really strict about check out too. I reserved a queen room, but when we got to it, the bed was awful. It was obviously a double bed and was sagging in the middle. The room (207) was yellowed and outdated, though the bathroom was nice. When I complained about the room, they upgraded us to a King bedroom for free. It was tons better and the bed was super comfortable. The hot springs in the basement were really nice and we loved our 30 minutes in a private pool with a locking door. The breakfast was delicious as well. This isn't the hotel's fault, but if you are staying in Lava Hot Springs, bring good earplugs. The stupid trains pass by several times a night and they honk their horns loudly every time. It woke me up 4-5 times so I slept badly
