Lausanne Starling Hotel is located in Lausanne, the capital of the canton of Vaud, Switzerland. It is very close to the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne, a 5-minute walk away, and is close to the campus. The room is small and the shower room leaks, making water all over the outside. Good environment. Good size room. Bedsheets come with slight black stain. Breakfast is the same every day.
Horrible front desk service. Worst experience ever in my numerous trips to Switzerland and staying in different hotels. Requested reception to help book taxi to train station for early morning train to airport 2 days before departure. Reminded them evening before and was assured it has been done. Come time of pickup and no taxi came. Checked with reception and he said need to wait for taxi company to call back and need at least 20 minutes!! Requested him to expedite and he asked me to book uber myself!!!! Installed uber and got myself a vehicle and just in time for the train. Speechless

Came to EPFL to see my daughter. The room has a view of Lake Raymond. The hotel restaurant is good, the main course salmon is very delicious, the special seasoning plus the chef's homemade foie gras sauce is very delicate, this dish alone is worth coming back to taste.

This hotel is very convenient for us as our son studies in EPFL and lives close by. Decent hotel at a very reasonable price I the area. Breakfast is a bit expensive for the spread. There is a nice bar at the Hotel Lobby. Most rooms have a view or at least partial view of the lake. The staff is polite and helpful.
