Kambi Mstuni Resort ★★★

"Kambi Mstuni graciously hosted our guests for lunch following a networking forum, and we couldn’t have been more pleased. Despite giving them very short notice, they managed to put together a delicious and well-balanced meal that was both healthy and satisfying for everyone. The portions were generous, the flavors well thought out, and the setting added a lovely touch of calm after a busy morning. Their warm hospitality stood out, making our guests feel welcome and well cared for. It’s the kind of place you remember and we’re already looking forward to returning soon."

JW Marriott Mount Kenya Rhino Reserve Safari Camp ★★★★★

📍 Solio Ranch, Solio Game Reserve, Lamuria

"Traveling solo, I never once felt alone from the moment I arrived; As an architect, the spatial layout and seamless indoor-outdoor connectivity of the tents were a masterclass in luxury design. Safari drives with guide Robert and resident photographer Ian made my entire trip. The team’s hospitality brought tremendous warmth throughout: Tanuj, Manju, and especially Justin stood out with their thoughtful greetings, Kevin ensured pleasant dining, and "Magic Mercy" crafted phenomenal mocktails. Special appreciation as well to Esther and trainee Lynette for their gracious welcomes. To seamlessly match the brilliant setting with true five-star execution, a few operational refinements will elevate the experience: Service Responsiveness: Early-morning front desk call handling and reliable coverage for scheduled wellness offerings like guided meditation. Guest Comfort Details: Heated options for the plunge pool, more ergonomic seating for quad bike excursions, and refining pastry consistency (particularly the Gulab Jamun I requested). Overall, this is a standout property with immense charm and top talent. I look forward to returning for an even tighter, world-class experience."

Kambi Mstuni Resort ★★★
"I recently had the pleasure of staying at Kambi Mstuni, and it was truly a wonderful experience. The food was absolutely amazing, with every meal being fresh and delicious. The staff were incredibly helpful, friendly, and always ready to assist with anything needed. The room was excellent comfortable, clean, and well-maintained. What stood out the most was the peaceful atmosphere of the place. It was extremely chilled, quiet, and perfect for relaxation away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. I highly recommend Kambi Mstuni to anyone looking for a comfortable and tranquil getaway. Thank you to the entire team for making my stay so memorable!"

Lalanasi Lodge ★★★
"Lalanasi has become a family favorite! We've been there three times now, and each visit just gets better. The last two visits were unforgettable, thanks to the incredible customer service. Madam Irene, the Supervisor, gave us the warmest welcome and treated us like VIPs. Her kindness and attention made us feel right at home, and we’re so grateful for her hospitality. We’re already planning our next visit this December with family and friends. Huge thanks to Madam Irene and the amazing Lalanasi team—God bless you all for making our experiences so memorable!"

JW Marriott Mount Kenya Rhino Reserve Safari Camp ★★★★★
"Just finished 5 days at the newly opened JW Marriott Mount Kenya Rhino Reserve, set within Solio Game Reserve Conservancy—and it was an incredible experience. First, ask for Caleb as your guide/driver. I don’t know what magic he pulled off, but we saw all 4 of Solio’s Big 5: lion, leopard, Cape buffalo & rhino (both black & white). He also found lions feeding on an oryx, jackals feeding on an unnamed antelope, and a lion vs. rhino encounter, among many other sightings. Most importantly, Caleb has the patience of a saint, allowing us to spend as much time as we wanted observing the animals. That’s one of the advantages of a private conservancy: far fewer vehicles, no crowds, and no rush. We spent 7–9 minutes on many sightings and over an hour watching feedings & lion cubs. If you want to actually observe animal behavior rather than simply check animals off a list, Solio is hard to beat. And the “tents”? This is glamping, not camping. They’re essentially suites with a freestanding soaking tub, indoor & outdoor showers, conversation pit, plunge pool, minibar and minifridge. Housekeeping comes twice daily, including turn-down, and even handles 5 pieces of laundry per person each day. The food was simply amazing—fresh vegetables from the garden, beautifully prepared meats & fish, and a wide variety of cuisines. Three meals a day overlooking a lawn where giraffes & rhinos come to graze while you graze. The service was equally impressive; the staff quickly learned our preferences and anticipated our needs. The lodge itself is beautiful and relaxed, with a game room, pool, gym, well-stocked bar and roaring fireplace. And Mercy is a mixologist beyond compare. A particularly nice touch for photographers: the camp provides Canon EOS R6 Mark II cameras with 200–800mm lenses. Ian, their resident photographer, was also invaluable in helping us capture the wildlife Caleb found. Esther, the general manager, and Tanuj, the experience manager, bent over backwards to make our stay exceed our wildest expectations. From warm towels after every game drive to coffee and cold drinks in the Land Cruiser—and even champagne and snacks upon pickup at Nanyuki Airstrip—the little touches were everywhere. As much as I want to gatekeep this new property, I think it’s only fair to share: if you’re looking for a truly exceptional safari experience, put JW Marriott Mount Kenya Rhino Reserve on your list. I’m already trying to figure out how to return."
