For the money paid the accommodation was sub standard. Dusty (my husband and I ended up with terrible hay fever). Very cold the heater was blowing luke warm air. The building was tired and needed a complete new paint job. Very small toilet and tiles missing off the wall above sink. Breakfast was yoghurt and toast in room! Advised by manager's daughter to be careful as the deck wood was rotten awaiting new deck! Advised the "in charge" person the next day of dissatisfaction and she claimed to be the manager and not the owner so unable to do anything about the accommodation. Overall I would never stay there again and would advise friends to avoid it.

On arrival we were shocked to see the messy outside, a double mattress, old paint pots and general mess. Our room was full of flies, so bad we had to go & buy fly killer! The breakfast was in plastic bags and jars that I’m not sure how many people had touched! The fridge was dirty, the TV didn’t work, the jacuzzi bath was dirty too….we were shocked and so disappointed. The website for this place needs to be updated, the new owner has ruined its reputation.

Our rooms rather basic with curtain not fitting, noisy fan with a mind of its own and could be cleaner, self serve breakfast outside the room a little unusual but a large table to use if you wish. The freshly baked scones on arrival were great, the quiet after 930 rule makes sense in such an open plan house but seemed a bit harsh. Lovely view and place to park right outside, need a car to get into town.

My father and I stayed at Goat & Goose B&B for one night on a cycling trip. The GPS had an old access which made the arrival fraught (use the address on the website) BUT once we were there we were greeted by a delightful manager, Sheree, who made our stay really special. The house accommodates at least a dozen or so people with large and quirky common areas. The full cooked brekky is a treat and the snacks and tea etc in the rooms were very nice. The host will bend over backwards to make things easy (allowing e-bikes in the house to charge, taking us down to a restaurant etc). Thanks Sheree!

I totally recommend a stay at this amazing B&B. A unique, architect-designed wooden house with beautiful features inside and out, it has views of Bass Strait and is decorated with an extensive, eclectic glory of antiques, collectables, artworks and fun objects. There are four different suites (one being a penthouse) and a large dining/leisure area with balcony seating. I stayed for one night in the “deluxe double room with sea view” which had a four-poster bed (with an electric blanket) and contemporary claw-foot bath amongst other attractive inclusions. I loved the freestanding chandelier-like teelight candle holder (candles supplied), the varied art prints and the snowflake stickers on the windows. The glass between the bedroom and bathroom gave a sense of greater space and there was a furnished balcony with views of the Strait. For a closer look, binoculars were provided! The manager made delicious scones for afternoon tea which were left in the kitchen area along with jam and freshly whipped cream for guests to help themselves. When I checked out the next morning, she insisted I take two of the leftover ones with me. My “kitchenette” - mini-fridge, microwave, toaster and electric jug, with crockery and food supplies - was just outside the suite in what was the “dead end” of a corridor. Washing up could be done in the kitchen a short walk away, although I gather it wasn’t required for guests to do their own. Supplies included bread for toasting and cereal (and fresh orange juice!) but a hot breakfast was also available. The only issue I had was there wasn’t a powerpoint near the small table to connect my iPad and its hub, so I had to improvise a working space (I guess the communal area may have had a more convenient set-up) but I didn’t mind as it was such a pleasure staying in this lovely and interesting place.

Lovely setting but disappointed to be snapped at by the lady on arrival that we were early when in fact we were not so had to wait for our room after a 4 hour drive and no really apology for the way we were spoken to. Yoghurt always days after the best before date and fruit was never fresh. Apart from the food and our disappointment at our greeting the stay was nice but would not stay again.
