Staybridge Suites Lake Charles

This was my first time to stay in an IHG Staybridge Suites property. I was very impressed. First let me state that I am a die hard Hilton lover and I’m not sure why I even decided to give this property a try but I am so happy I did. The property is a newer property and appears clean and maintained. My room was very large and well furnished. The kitchen was large enough and well stocked. I loved the lounging sofa and large (50+”) television screens (1 in living area, 1 in bedroom). The mattress was super comfortable. There was a little sign that said the mattress was new and was a Beautyrest by Simmons Hospitality. It was super comfortable and if I was buying for my home I’d consider the same mattress. My only complaint, and I am running into this issue more & more, is that there is not a bathtub in the suite, only a stand up shower. I don’t like the fact that my choice of bath or shower has been taken away and now I can only shower. I like a hot bath to relax at the end of the day and I didn’t have this option at this property since there was no bathtub, only a stand up shower. The bath products smelled nice and the shampoo, etc. is the communal type mounted in the shower. The fitness room was well equipped and breakfast area satisfactory. All areas of the hotel appeared to be spotless. I read the negative reviews of this property but had absolutely no problem during my stay. I will stay here again when I’m in the area.

Another Amazing stay at this wonderful Hotel. We stayed from 06/28 to 07/01 and I can only say amazing things about this Hotel. The newly renovated rooms are beautifully redone and beyond gorgeous, the staff made to feel like you are Family and the room is our home. The Front desk staff are great very accommodating. They did a perfect job making sure we were taken care of. The entire Hotel staff are all very nice and friendly and greet you with a warm smile everyday. Even the maintenance staff were very helpful to us and we saw them working in the lobby. I recommend this Hotel to anyone who comes to Lake Charles, especially if you're coming to Downtown. The rooms are super clean and Fresh, and it's right across the Lake. So thank you to all the staff who made our stay such a success🥰 we will be back.

Had the pleasure of staying at this hotel while in town for a cheer competition at Burton Coliseum. I really enjoyed my stay here. It’s centrally located with a ***** of other hotels and there are lots of places to eat and shop. Nearby is Target, Hobby Lobby, Marshall’s, and Ross. Olive Garden Walmart Panera bread and chick fil is also right across the highway. The beds were comfortable and the room felt like a suite. I had double beds and a little sitting area with a sofa and office table/chair. I could do some work while here. I loved how the toilet and shower were separate to allow others to get dressed and used toilet at the same time. Pros: centrally located to a lot of things, comfortable beds, easy check in, free breakfast, gym, pool Cons: only one person working desk at night managing front entry, phones, and housekeeping. middle table in between beds lacked an electrical outlet, the front desk market choices are expensive(10 dollars for a drink and pringles cup), and breakfast is nasty. I woke up with a few bite marks on my body both days but when I checked sheets for bed bugs I couldn’t really find anything. I even changed the sheets. So just watch for yourself

First, I would be remised not to mention that I have been a loyal Marriott customer for many years, over 25 yrs. Personally and I use Marriot when I have to go out of state for work as well. In November 2024, I stayed at the Residence Lake Charles on Prien. I have stayed there many times before. This time, I used points for the last-minute stay. I was there for a funeral. I made the reservation online. I have an upgrade on my profile to use, so when I checked in, I asked for the upgrade. I was told that I had to call reservations to have that done. I stood there, and made the call and the agent told me the hotel would cancel the one that I made, and they charged me 4000 additional points for the upgrade, which I had a free one to use before Dec. So, I don't understand that either. Upon checkout, I was asked if I stayed in both rooms. I said no, It's only me. Confused at this point. Apparently, they still had not cancelled the original reservation. I was told they would look at the camera and make sure I did not. I said fine. The manager all but flat out accused me of lying. I trusted that the matter would be taken care of, because I certainly did not, nor would I allow anyone else to stay in it as I was also accused of. Now why wouldn't they have deactivated the original room key in the first place is beyond me. Honestly, I had never been treated that way by a Marriot staff member in all my years staying with them. I would hate to think it was because any bias. The whole thing was horrible, because I know better having dealt with so many other locations. No one has ever told me to call reservations for an upgrade before. As a Titanium member certain things just come with membership. This manager could have cared less of my membership status. So, this morning, I have to head out of state for work for 2 months and I go to book my room in California to assist with the disasters there and notice that I was showing points used for the same day at the same hotel by both me and the reservation clerk. The hotel manager never refunded them. So, I call customer service, and was told it has to be investigated with the hotel management for review. So basically, same story now two months later. This review is to point out the rudeness and inconsiderate behavior to the members that has been loyal for so long. To point out the possible bias because of points usage vs paying, or any other possible bias she may have had with me. I do know for a fact, That I watched her with other guests, and she was just as friendly. With me her whole demeanor and attitude changed. Nevertheless, I want my points back and I will never be staying there again.
