We decided to write this review only because we own a hotel ourselves and are the third generation of hoteliers, so we know a little about this sector. The Ideal Park Hotel simply lacked empathy and humanity. I would like to point out that the mistake was ours, we very naively did not read the cancellation policy carefully. Perhaps because we wanted to leave, a little because we were in a hurry and a little because we as a hotel always return deposits, even those of 100 euros, or we look for a way to get them back! Let's get to the point, at 4:15 pm on 10/09/24 we booked a room for me, my husband and our four children via online confirmation with check in the next day, so 11/09/24 and departure on 14/09/24 (midweek and not on the weekend). The morning of departure we look at the weather again and they call it very bad with storms and a lot of rain so bitterly we decide to cancel, I call at 10 in the morning to ask if it was possible to cancel and the girl at the reception tells me that there are no problems, but she asks me to send an email communicating the cancellation for their internal logistics, I tell her that we had not given any deposit and she reiterates that there was no problem. Immediately after the phone call I send the email as indicated and hang up the phone. Unfortunately I didn't realize that 13 minutes later they replied that the reservation could be cancelled of course but that we would still have to pay for the entire stay if they hadn't managed to resell the room... Five days later we received the bill for the stay that we didn't have, discounted by one night that they managed to resell, for a total of 1414.90 euros... I called immediately to try to explain that I hadn't seen their response, that having booked one day for another and during the week we didn't imagine that we would be presented with the bill for the entire stay, if it was possible to meet halfway... the girl at the reception kindly replied that she was sorry but the cancellation policy was written in the reservation and to try to write an email to the administration to see if a voucher could be made but that they usually didn't do it... so, very humbly we paid our 1414.90 euros and I can't even say how it was in the hotel considering that we never saw it!
