This was my 3rd stay at the Riu Olivia Beach. Visited 18th September for a week. The hotel's location is the main reason I returned again. The weather was very hot. The actual hotel remains dated and is waiting for renovations to be approved although it does appear minor repairs are ongoing. My room (645) in the main building was a suite with separate bedroom and lounge and was clean. Towels replaced daily. No tea making facilities. Shower in bath. The rest of the hotel is clean. Food repetitive but always found something to eat. Self service Amstel lager, soft drinks etc. Staff friendly. Small shop onsite. Evening entertainment was ok. Bit of sun lounger reserving going on - the beach is an alternative venue with a few bars on it and loungers (paid for). I strolled along the beach to Corralejo a couple of times and less than an hour walk. Taxi back was 8 Euros. Outside the hotel on the main road is a bus stop and HiperDino supermarket. Taxi rank outside hotel. The lifts in the main building are worth a separate mention - 3 lifts and 1 didn't work. The other 2 were very slow, then when it did arrive usually already full of people, the doors sometimes start to close after a couple of seconds while you're still getting in and sometimes it didn't stop flush to the floor and you had to step up and out of the lift. They need servicing or something. This hotel is ideal if you want to be somewhere fairly quiet and in a fantastic location with sunny weather and you're not too fussed if everything isn't perfect. I hope to return for a 4th visit soon. Thank you all at the Riu Oliva Beach.

Reception were very accommodating to our requests prior to arrival. On arrival Cat checked us all In but also let us go Eat as we had just arrived and lunch was nearly finished. Food options- weren’t bad - I’m A fussy eater so I did eat more or less the same Thing every day…. But for those willing to try something there is always a great selection of Food. Pool Bar - tea, coffee, cold drinks all Available all day…. Food at pool Bar -pizza and hot dogs you pay for separately but there is sandwiches(you just need to ask As they are in the fridge) crisps, nuts and ice cream available all day. Crater Park on site was good fun for all Ages, no Issues getting sun-beds etc maybe not always ones with parasols but still No issues - Our villa felt like it as furthest away from the reception which wasn’t ideal with young kids and Mil with walking difficulties but it wasn’t the end of the world (10/15 min walk) ideally some Daisy bikes For hire for the week would Have been great! Or electric buggies of some sort- although again rec gave us a lift down with our bags and picked us up on the way back with them So again super helpful. When we did have issues we called rec and it was fixed straight away…. All The team were super friendly from bar staff, housekeeping, maintenance, gardeners etc etc (apart from one lady in restaurant who was snappy with us when we moved a table so all 9of us could Sit together - she said we weren’t allowed to do that even though we had done the last 6 days) just her attitude was a bit off there are nicer ways to be with guests. But a special shout out to Cat who was superb at her job - she remembered us(hopefully not for bad reasons haha) when we decided to get a private transfer for the way back to airport she sorted that out for us with no issues- feel like she went above and beyond for us and was always smiling. A credit to your team! Thank you again Cat for going that extra mile.

Excellent
I rated a 3 because we stayed her last year and gave it a 5. It is a different experience. Clearly the leadership are delivering a different message to the staff. Last year they couldn’t do enough, we were blown away by the unique experience. We were so excited about coming back, but sadly we’ve been disappointed on numerous occasions. It’s just another hotel now. The staff appear gutted, I can only think this is the corporate experience as opposed to the previous boutique experience. It’s a beautiful hotel with great staff, but sadly they are not able to offer that unforgettable experience we had last year. It’s gone from a customer focus experienced to a revenue focused corporation. We felt like we were getting in the way here, that can be uncomfortable I was told that if I wanted to keep the iron for more than an hour I would have to be charged 9 euros….. in a 5 star hotel!! Bizarre.
I would definitely recommend this hotel The location is away from the busier areas, but nearby to local shops and bars. The beach is only a short walk away with beautiful costal walks. We enjoyed everything about the hotel, from the pool side apartment, facilities, food and the friendly staff. Will definitely be returning
Just arrived home from our second visit to this lovely hotel and it was just as great as the first time! Before we arrived we were made aware of some building work in the main building so had requested a quiet room and we were put into a room at the opposite end of the hotel and didn’t hear a thing! The room was spotless, beds are comfy with plenty of pillows, a good sized balcony and large bathroom with all the toiletries in that you need. We did have an issue with the air con not working when we arrived but after a call to reception, someone came and sorted it within 15 minutes so we were very happy with that. The food is great in Parrots restaurant and the choice is amazing! They even had many different types of milk and bread for those with allergies. The pool snack bar is also great. Drinks are branded and the cocktails are made fresh rather than out of a jug or tap. We prefer the quieter pool and had no problem getting sun beds so no 7am dash to reserve them! Location is brilliant - right in town but set back enough so that there’s no noise but everywhere is walkable. The staff are very friendly and helpful and always speak when you pass them. A couple even remembered us from a year ago! The only one area we would say for improvement is to have more seating space in the evenings. There’s only a few tables outside on the terrace and some seating indoors but it’s very warm in there so some more outside seating would be ideal! Can’t wait to go back again sometime!
We stayed with a friend in a private room in a rooftop room. It was very nice, clean, and we had our own terrace! It was mostly quiet. If someone cannot stand noise than dont book this room as 2-3 times a day loud music was coming from the resort nearby (only short time, it was part of thr daily animation for the guests). We were surprised at the beginning but then it became part of our life :) The staff in the hostel is very friendly and easy going, the room was good sized, comfy beds, will be missed!
Just returned from week stay and had a great time. Hotel location - perfect, couple of minutes from large supermarket, 5 mins walk to music square Hotel - very modern interior 2 bedrooms, also sofa bed. Kitchen had full size fridge/freezer, hob, microwave and even dishwasher. TV in living area and both bedrooms (we don't watch TV while on holiday but option there if you do). Only criticism is no air con (Hotel doesn't advertise as having so were already aware) ceiling fans in both bedrooms and free standing fan in room. Was exceptionally hot last week so did struggle a bit with no aircon. Another minor issue was we had requested upper apartment so be aware the balconies are small, only room for small table and 2 chairs so not suitable if you like to sunbathe on your balcony The rooftop bar was lovely and had great vibe. The noise didn't bother us - actually enjoyed the music but may not suit everyone (I wouldn't recommend to young families) The pool was small but we are more beach people so wasn't an issue for us. Staff very friendly. I would personally like to thank Chantelle who tried to sort out the transfer issue for us - the Jet2 transfer coach broke down and we had a bit of panic weren't going to get to the airport. Reception staff also have a room available to store our luggage and allowed us to use the showers in gym Overall we had fabulous stay and will definitely return - thank you
Visited with my mum for a relaxing break. The staff are so friendly and helpful, every single person we spoke to was really lovely, polite and helpful. The service was faultless. However the housekeeping is awful. When we checked in, there were dead and live bugs everywhere in the room - a squashed one on the door, a huge dead one on the bedroom floor and a whole bunch of live bugs crawling in the bath. The bath was also filthy. We reported this to reception who said they’d send someone to clean and even exterminate any bugs but nobody came and the room didn’t feel like it was actually cleaned the entire time. The food has a huge amount of choice and it’s all mostly tasty. However everything is cold! I thought people were exaggerating and I’m not fussy about things like that but the only hot food was that on the show cooking station. Even things freshly served up were lukewarm at best. The pools are big and there are plenty of sunbeds, although a lot are in the shade. They also don’t recline very much so aren’t overly comfortable. The pools are absolutely freezing, maybe considered refreshing, if you’re brave enough to put your shoulders under! When you check in they ask you to download an app to use the facilities but the wifi doesn’t work! I couldn’t download the app for 3 days and when I finally managed to, nothing would load. We asked reception for help and they said it was faulty and couldn’t be fixed on a weekend, and there was no alternative wifi to use. Monday was the only day the wifi actually worked and then it promptly broke again on the Tuesday. All in all, it’s a nice enough hotel but I’d rate it a 3* at best, not a 4*. It’s looking very tired and run down in places and it wouldn’t take much to really lift the place. I wouldn’t return
We arrived late afternoon on Tuesday the 22nd oct. The welcome by reception staff was warm and friendly check in was quick and smooth. Our room (2288) was clean and very spacious the view from the balcony was just of other rooms and the back view was of out buildings and the tennis court and although we do prefer a scenic view we are rarely in the room so it’s not essential to us. There are no sea view rooms as far as I know so a pool view room would be too noisy for us anyway. The room had air con and worked well. The pool area is a bit cramped and you get the usual people putting towels on beds which is annoying but we just expect this now when travelling anywhere in Europe. The biggest downside to the pool is it’s freezing my 5 year old could only manage 10 min stints, we came to Fuertoventura in April but in the south of the island the pool was heated and made a huge difference and we will definitely book a hotel next time with this in mind. The pool could definitely do with a bit of a makeover the liner is all crinkled so doesn’t feel great on foot. The majority of the sun beds are old and worn so pretty uncomfortable. We did end up at the beach more than at the pool. Location is really good 5 min walk to the shops bars and restaurants. The transfer only took 30 min. When we went to the southern part in April the transfer was 2 hours and there wasn’t a great deal going on outside of the hotel so we definitely will come back to corelejo We was all inclusive and the food and drink was ok. We do always book all inc purely for convenience with our daughter during the day. Breakfast was probably the best with a decent selection. Lunch was also ok but we tend to really only have salad or something light so never an issue if there isn’t a a great deal of choice. The evening meal was not to our liking for us the choice was minimal. We personally would just prefer local cuisine but totally understand that the hotel has to cater to the masses. we just ended up eating out most nights which again for us all inclusive is a base and prefer to eat out anyway. The kids mini disco was great for our little girl the animation team are lovely and friendly. The guy behind the bar was always upbeat and made us feel welcome especially taking time to interact with our daughter. I’d read on some of the reviews that staff could be rude I can personally say not one member of staff was rude or dismissive. We had a very positive experience with all the staff I guess if you are respectful to them they are to you? Unfortunately the only rudeness we came across was from British people! Manners go a long way! I’m English myself and it baffles me how some people live up to the “brits abroad” name. All in all we really enjoyed our trip I would say the hotel is more 3 star plus than 4 star. I’m not sure if we would return purely because of the pool being so cold if the hotel invested in making the pool heated we would come back, This is relative to us and our ne
We stayed here at the start of November, as on the website it is advertised as a nice hotel. We had paid extra for a “sea view”, to which we were greeted with tape and construction work outside of the apartment blocking the view. We were given a room on the ground floor which added to the difficulty to see anything. I have attached a photo out of view. I then went to complain to reception as we had paid money for something we did not have. I approached the male receptionist who came across very rudely and abrupt. He offered to see if there were anymore rooms, but completely ignored my frustrations. He looked at the picture I have attached and said “if you move to the right abit you can slightly see the sea, this is a sea view”. I argued that I shouldn’t have to be at a certain spot to see it and this isn’t what I paid for. He then said the council are carrying out work which isn’t their fault. Whilst I agree with this, I made the point of that they shouldn’t advertise a sea view if this is obstructed, and especially don’t make people pay more. Furthermore, the rooms were dirty, the showerhead was covered in dirt and rust, dead bugs, blood on the curtains etc. Rooms are cleaned once per week. You can hear everything going on outside as the walls as paper thin and you can hear everything around you. By reading other reviews, it seems as though other people have had similar experiences and by reading the hotels responses, they don’t paint their self in a good light. I will not be returning here and I advise anyone who is thinking of staying here to look elsewhere.
