Hotels in Nishijin, Kyoto

We stayed here for a week to visit family living directly across the road so for us this little gem was ideal. Not only for the location but also the wonderful staff who looked after our every need every day. The really attractive dining room was where we were served breakfast every day by a friendly, English speaking, chef. We were able to use this room at any time during the day both to use the free coffee facility or heat our own meals in the microwave provided. Beer could be bought on site and there was always a friendly member of staff available to answer questions. Taxis were readily available when called by reception staff and the local streets were quiet and safe to wander. A laundromat was in easy walking distance as were several convenience stores. We would definitely stay here again, and recommend it to anyone visiting Kyoto.

Stayed a total of six nights hotel booked by travel agent in Sydney, requested a three star, which hotel is rated as but could pass as a four star. Took the breakfast option when checked in 1250 yen per person well worth it, option of Japanese or Western breakfast, brought to your table when ready on a tray, help yourself to drinks. Staff very welcoming, always ready to provide you with directions and maps, would book tours when requested. Ten minute walk Marutamachi subway station, directly opposite Kyoto Imperial Palace which was worth the visit, comfortable walk to Nijo Castle. Ten minute walk to family mart and McDonald's. Our room was spacious complete with double bed, sofa, medium size flat screen TV, fridge, electric jug and two varieties of green tea. Bathroom small but functional, all toiletries provided including razor, hair brush toothbrush. Room serviced daily, option to have bedding changed or not daily. Retractable clothes line over bath if you need to rinse clothes. Definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

Great value hotel. I would stay here, again and again. There is good communication to downtown, a nice tea house and good French coffee shop near by, as well as restaurants. Hotel is clean, comfy, well equiped. Only improvement I can imagine is to be able to fully open the room window.

Located a few minutes walk to the Imperial Palace is this hotel. This area is considered to be a ”quiet zone” so there is a minimal commercial activity. There are very few restaurants and the closest convenience stores are a block or two away. If you ever watched movies like Die Hard or In the Line of Fire, you remember scenes in a hotel with a large indoor atrium with glass elevators. All the room doors face the open atrium. That is exactly what the design of this hotel is like. All the amenities are on the ground floor or below. As for the rooms. For Japan, these rooms are quite large. It would be comfortable for international visitors who are used to larger rooms. The amenities are not branded but of higher quality. There are three areas for parking. Ground level, basement, and outdoor. While checkout is at noon, you get complimentary parking until 3 pm. We choose this hotel for this feature. Allows you to spend the day exploring without worrying about the expensive street parking costs. There is a taxi stand with taxis until about 10 pm. There are five restaurants, be fair warned, all are quite pricy. There are two breakfast options. If you want a traditional Japanese breakfast, you go to the Japanese restaurant Hotaru. If you want a ”western” breakfast, there is a buffet at the Terrace restaurant. We were not interested in seeing the nightlife but wanted to be close to the Imperial Palace and Nijo Castle. This hotel was perfect for our needs. Would recommend without hesitation.

The hardware aspect of the inn is perfect.　 It can't be helped that the maple leaves in the courtyard haven't turned red due to the climate and location, but I wish they had at least picked the brown and withered leaves. All of the staff who assisted us were foreigners, but I wonder if there are no Japanese staff stationed there full-time. Even if you give your name at check-in, it cannot be checked against the reservation list (I told you that you are third from the top of the list). I made a reservation that included breakfast, but I was only booked for the night (the check-in sheet said ”room only”, so I pointed this out and discovered the error). When I requested a luggage delivery service to deliver to my next hotel (in Osaka), I was told that they could only deliver to Osaka Station (the list of internet and in-room services also said that delivery to the hotel was possible). When I pointed this out, they called the delivery company to confirm and accepted the order.Even at that time, they did not tell me the name of the hotel in Osaka.The price was different from what was listed in the room list ( The price had gone up)). Breakfast is a normal Makunouchi bento. etc. I wanted to experience the atmosphere of Kyoto, so I decided to stay at a fairly expensive hotel, but I was disappointed.

Lovely clean hotel a short walk (or free shuttle) to kyoto station). All was good. Very fast wifi and comfortable beds. Excellent breakfast either downstairs or in the revolving restaurant. The only oddity was the swimming pool and gym which had restricted usage hours and required payment on top! Was not worth it and even if it was the unusual hours of operation made it unfeasible. Would stay again though unless I really needed the gym and pool.

My booking was initially for a 46m² Connecting Room but was informed by hotel that my reservation was for 28m² Standard Quad Room. Chose to proceed after Trip proposed a solution. Hotel Location is very convenient, so near to Kyoto Station. There is a nice lounge area that provides free beverages for hotel guests between 2-8pm. Staff are very friendly, polite and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the Hotel buffet beakfast too. Hotel even provided luggage storage for us (till 8+pm) after we checked out. We really enjoyed the stay at the hotel!

Great location- inside a covered shopping *****. Walk right outside for food and shopping. 10 minutes walking to metro. Great breakfast selections of both western and Japanese options. Improvements - ordered non smoking room but the room smells like smoke. Dryer in laundry room doesn’t work very well. Cloth is still wet after drying for 60 minutes.

the location is great right within the city center. our room was large, and with a large bathroom. Kyoto station location offers a lot of eateries and shopping spots. Good food and great shopping experience.

I got this property information from XiaoHongShu. Very impressive with the hot spring, sunset and sunrise activities. So we book and stay! We checked in around 3.30pm and go for the evening cocktail with the gorgeous views. Dinner and then enjoy ours night spring. And sunrise spring. Honestly this is the best ever experience. Will come back again!
