Dormy's hot spring hotel has been my top priority when traveling by Shinkansen in recent years, especially the one on the right side of Kyoto Station. The straight-line distance to Kyoto Station is only 200 to 300 meters. After soaking in the hot spring on the top floor, you can feel the lubrication of Huaqing Pool, which is great. It is definitely the best choice for those who love hot springs but don’t want to travel far.

The hotel is located within 5 minutes walk from Kyoto Station with quite a few eating places and convenient stores nearby. I always enjoy the spa at Dormy Inn and you can pay for massage services which helps you to relax those tired walking feet. Their staff are very friendly and I would like to say a special thanks to Mr. Kwok at the reception desk who was very helpful to me during my stay.

The location is very good, just a five-minute walk from Kyoto Station.
The service is also very good, super considerate. You can also go to the hotel entrance to get hot water before leaving every day.
There is also an open-air natural hot spring on the top floor, and ice cream and ice yogurt are available after soaking. There is also a resort-style hotel's evening ramen service, which is really rich and the experience is unexpectedly good.
I sprained my ankle accidentally, and the hotel also has special ice packs for ice compresses.
Although it is an environmentally friendly check-in method (a new bath towel is placed at the door of the room every day, and an additional fee is required if the room needs to be cleaned), all the check-in experiences are great.

We booked and paid for a 20 square metre room for a night and a bigger 32 sq metre room for the next night. After the first night, the manager told us that the bigger room is unavailable and persuade us to stay in the smaller room. We were not given any choice. This spoiled our vacation. Don't trust the fat hotel manager. Not recommended to stay in this hotel.
