The hotel is strategically located in the center of Arashiyama Togetsukyo Bridge, just a 10-step walk away. The hotel is Japanese-style and has a long history. Surrounded by old buildings, the hotel has large bedrooms, bathtubs and showers, all standard, with dry and wet separation. The hotel is very clean. The service staff are very considerate and wipe every piece of luggage carefully. The hotel's breakfast and dinner are also great, worth recommending and experiencing. The environment of the restaurant and the quality of the breakfast are very high, and the key service is very considerate.

Excellently located hotel with most of the rooms overlooking the historic bridge and the river. Excellent welcome, unparalleled hospitality. The shared onsen are quite small, probably you won't expect to stay more than 20/30 minutes. The private open-air onsen is small. To experience the sensations, they are absolutely fine. The dinner is aesthetically superb, the flavors are excellent and adherent to tradition. Sleeping on a futon is an experience that cannot be missed in Japan. Yakuta available and slippers to wander freely throughout the Ryokan. Really worth doing. Well done!

We had lunch here and it was fabulous! Everything was so delicious and the setting was so authentic including the best service I have ever experienced. We also booked the private bath that was a perfect water temperature for our rainy afternoon and left us relaxed and warmed throughout our day.

My wife and I went on an annual fall foliage sightseeing trip to Kyoto 🍁 We stayed at a wonderful inn, Arashiyama Onsen Hanakada. The building and atmosphere of the inn are very nice, and you can see the mountains of Arashiyama, Togetsukyo Bridge, Oi River, and the autumn leaves of Arashiyama Park from your room. The room is spacious, and the service of bracken mochi, freshly brewed matcha, and yuzu juice in the refrigerator is very delicious😋I'm very happy🥰 I'm also happy with the service provided by Mr. Nakai and the landlady☺️ The hot spring ♨️ is also of very good quality, slightly alkaline. will make your skin smooth. You can enjoy a panoramic view of the Arashiyama mountains at dusk and sunrise from the open-air bath on the rooftop, where you can fully enjoy the hot springs and the scenery. Best of all, the location right next to Togetsukyo Bridge and the view from the room are amazing. Also, dinner is served in your room, and breakfast is a dish that you can only enjoy in Kyoto, such as pumped yuba, boiled tofu, and dried fish.A very good inn. And my wife is very satisfied 🙆 I want to stay there next time too Shiki-yado Hanakada

We had a relatively good time here. The ryokan is well located at the Arashiyama area. It’s traditional and the staff is friendly. The major negative aspect is that the ryokan is old and ready for a renovation. At this price point, one can certainly find better options.

We didn’t speak almost any Japanese and I’m a vegetarian but we didn’t have any problems staying at this Ryoken. They catered to us extremely well and we felt like honored guests the entire time. We were late for dinner one night and they wrapped all our dinner for us which was very kind. As an aside, this is a tattoo friendly onsen as well but we chose a private hot spring (which was really nice).

This was a lovely place to finish our stay in Kyoto. I have never stayed anywhere before with such attentive staff! It ticked all our boxes for what we wanted from a ryokan experience. Our multiple course meal was served in our room, and there were multiple onsens that we could try out. Renting out the private onsen was a great experience, and I would recommend it. Being outdoors, i did spot a lizard on the wall, which i thought was cool, but some might not enjoy it. I would just advise making sure you're hydrated before you go! The breakfast was a very filling and complex meal. There were multiple different types of food, along with tofu, which you cooked at your table. I accidently knocked over a cup of orange juice with the sleeves of my yukata, and while I felt mortified, the staff were very gracious to my clumsiness. For what we got, I feel this ryokan is very good value for money as I wouldn't have thought I would have been able to afford an experience this good.
