Beautifully nestled in the village, this gem of a hotel was a perfect retreat for our girls trip as part of a tour of South India. We spent two evenings and had such great experiences. The Tiger reserve is exceptional down the road, and we actually spotted and elephant and lots of monkeys. The food at Spice Village is GREAT! and the rooms are very charming.

Cet établissement au cœur du Kerala et sur notre route vers Cochin m’a laissé un excellent souvenir. Tout d’abord par la qualité du site. Les chambres-bungalows sont réparties dans un vaste parc bien entretenu, fort calme et sécurisé. Elles disposent du conditionnement d’air et d’une terrasse et elles sont fort confortables. Dans le domaine, vous trouverez aussi une grande piscine, un bar dans le plus pur style colonial anglais avec un grand billard et un vaste restaurant avec buffet de grande qualité. Le personnel est très disponible et prêt à rendre votre séjour aussi agréable que possible. Nous étions présents le 14 février. En ce jour de St Valentin, le personnel s’était vraiment décarcassé pour en faire le thème du jour avec des décorations, des chocolats en forme de cœur, un orchestre venu pour l’évènement et des danses traditionnelles dans le jardin. L’hôtel était en fête et la plupart des résidents étaient enchantés jusqu’à esquisser, pour certains, quelques pas de danse. Croyez-moi, personne n’oubliera cette soirée passée au Spice Village. Un moment rare dans notre déjà longue expérience de grand-voyageur et un macaron vert « Lauréat Travellers’ Choice 2024 » totalement mérité.

A wonderful resort. It really does have a village feel which gives you the sense of an oasis. The difference maker though was the staff, especially the guides. Highlight was the border walk in Periyar National park and trip to spice village. Will definitely return

Large eco estate but very quiet even with all the other guests around. All of the bungalows are well spaced to give a a feeling of remoteness and peace. food as always in India was very good. With very friendly staff. only stayed one night so didn't manage to take part in all of the activities. should have stayed longer.

Hotel is excellent Very helpful friendly staff Superb surroundings ,very well kept and clean. Food was excellent ,tasty and fresh,restaurant was of good quality of chef prepared food. The room we had was very comfortable and matched the rest of the resort. Very clean ,lovely and peaceful. An added bonus it’s only a short walk to centre of town for shops etc, Would recommend staying here, it will not disappoint. Wish had had more time at the hotel

This is a lovely hotel. Rooms are in individual villas. Ours was very clean, large, and furnished in a modern style, with a great shower. It was nice to relax and sit outside during the day on the veranda. Lovely freshwater pool. The gardens are interesting and immaculately kept. Monkeys wander around, but seem to ignore humans. The food was excellent, and not “dumbed down” in terms of spices and flavours. We were not bothered by mosquitoes, but that does depend on time of year. For information, there is no room service or TV in the room, and you may have to walk up a slope to your villa.

Amazing place!!!!.this place has lots to offer.we have been to many resorts but found that this place has a charm of its own.the travel on road is little hectic though.. though we were there for our first time the clean breath of air in itself is so relaxing

This is a rating for the 50 mile diet restaurant on site. We heard it was good and walked into the hotel complex very jealous that we weren’t staying there. The restaurant ambience was good and our drinks order was taken but nothing came quite as requested. My husband had a vegetable and coconut soup which he said tasted like water and I had a mushroom starter which was half mushrooms without much else but a spicy blob on the plate to the side. Mains were aubergine curry (ok) and a pork dish which was fine but a bit tough. The rice was in lumps. Overall disappointing despite it being our most looked forward to and expensive meal in Kerala. The Homestay we were in the night before served far superior food.
