Not recommended if you are travelling with elderly & children. Hotel Raya was run down, do not accept credit card payment, restaurant had no hot drinks. No hot water to shower, room was dusty & fan looks like it will drop anytime. Unless you don't mind a cheap hotel just to shower, sleep & move out immediately the next day. Rooms were clean. Amenities like soap, water bottle were very bad. Even news paper was not provided daily. It is not the same place that we used to stay a few years ago. Can be managed better.

While Hotel Rayas has done up the rooms, room had a foul odour and service is less than average.. No kettle provided despite requesting for it specifically during booking.. There is no restaurant and everything comes from the restaurant attached with Hotel Rayas Grand which is 100 m away.. Tea or coffee is available only after 6 am, although they promise that it can be provided earlier. So in case ordering plan for the delay

Stay was in a prime location with reasonable room charges. Front office staff was really cordial and helpful with our queries regarding places to visit in kumbakonam. Room service was excellent. The only problem was they do not have their own restaurant. Otherwise the stay was pleasant.

Hotel Rayas is centrally located place in kumbakonam. The room was small and was ok. Though the upkeep is fine, but can be better. Bathroom and toiletries were ok. Senior receptionist was polite, humble and hospitable than the young guy. Room service is available. It's a budget hotel.

Very kind and helpful. For car driver, the stay will be opposite Hotel Roya. Maha maga kulam is near to this hotel. And hotel Gowri is near to this place for having breakfast lunch

Prime location right next to mahamaham tank - nageswaran temple walkable distances - all other temples just 10 min + walk veg and non-veg restaurant and bar in opposite main unit. Fantastic parking area inhouse ina very busy street excellent service by staff

Shape of the room which was given to us was trepzoidal and was simply horrible. Service was very bad and even drinking water etc was not provided in the room. Staff was very courteous but service was very bad. It had proper space for parking of car but had to carry the luggage from our car to room.
