Hotels Near Muzium Warisan Lipis in Kuala Lipis

If you visit Taman Negara, there are not that many options where it comes to hotels. So try something a bit different for a change and stay at the Balai Serama guesthouse. We did, and we had the utmost pleasant surprise. First off, you won’t find it. That is why the owners pick you up as soon as you arrive in the village of Kuala Tahan. Be that by boat or by bus. For free, that is. Just call them, or ask a local. Where do you find it these days… The guesthouse consists of a sort of main building where the dining room is. The rooms are situated in a building next to that. In the middle you’ll find a beautiful garden. Ijat, the male owner, takes pride in maintaining it and that shows. In front of the premises, there is the river and jungle. Sometimes elephants pass by. You’ll hear lots of birds singing and the occasional monkey. You will also meet Marja, Ijat’s wife. She is from Holland and she will help you with everything you might possibly need. Be it a car transfer to the jetty, or to go out on an excursion. No trouble at all. The rooms are clean, with a separate bathroom, and a good working airconditioning. It is not that spacious, but large enough for a few days. Out front, there is a terrace with chairs and a small table. The beds sleep well enough for most people. Should you want to enjoy a drink, you can just approach Ijat or Marja. They have a selection of soda’s and beer (no wine) which is then charged to your room and you just pay when you leave. If you want, you can book some excursions through the guesthouse. Especially the whole day jungle tour is highly recommended. It is hard to get an experience like it anytime soon. The whole place has a really laid back atmosphere. No rush. Breakfast and dinner are served in the dining room which is entirely open on all sides. The meals are simple, but tasty and you’ll find that is is good and enough to get to to the next day. I wrote this in English as there are quite a few reviews in Dutch already. Apart from the Dutch guests, you will also find other nationalities so this will make it easier for you to read. I can recommend this place highly. We certainly had a great time and after the crowds and noise of Kuala Lumpur, it turned out to be a gem of tranquility. If a room is absorbed due to age, then it is normal. Not normal it is if it is polluted, that must not be. Brand sticks in the carpet, destroy grips at the store, no hot water for it a refrigerator that is warm. The alleged hot water supplier, which was heatly polluting the tiles in the bathroom. The store and the top box in the dresser had to clean first time. To keep quiet of the window, the window bank and the hang - just not touch!!! Fon is there at the reception, the bed was okay, breakfast is rather not international, but also okay (if you don't expect anything) There is also a pool that people who were in there were fully dressed. I don't know how they react when you wear a bath suit as guest. There is no alcohol, clearly. But they don't even produce glasses so you can take another drink outside on the street. There is no tanning cleaner that you could have taken.

Hotel located nearby the restaurants easy to eat. Room was clean

Absolutely love this hotel. Its located at the heart of the national park! Park center is also located within the resort, all the nature walks are literally a stone throw away. If you were to stay elsewhere, you have to cross the river. Breakfast and dinner were amazing! The jungle walk, late berkoh boat ride and night boat ride are absolutely must! Boat rides seat 4pax, so if you are in a party of 4 will be the best else you would have to find others to share or pay for the whole boat. River ferry to the village is just Rm1 each way. 1min ride and a avaliable readily, we didn't had to wait at all. In my opinion this is the beat place to stay in.

All stay was good, just it was informed that hot water is not 24H in the description. However we didnt get to use hot water at all. So we have to have cold shower each time.

the service staffs are very polite. we booked 1 twins room and 1 family room. there's no lift in this hotel, so if traveling with elderly probably need to choose room at the ground floor. but the activities (hotel backrooms) are happen there, so probably not suitable for those light sleeper. for twin room located ground floor, there is no window. with standing shower. for family room located first floor, it's very big with 2 king size beds. with bathtub(climbing of stairs required. we have 1 big luggage, so it's pretty challenging to carry it up and down). the bad points. 1)the toilet flooring is so slippery when it's wet. the hotel did place a pair of flip flop in the room but my granny doesn't feel comfortable wearing it. will be great if they can treat the floor with non slip solution or place non slip mat. 2) the bathtub is very high. so short people like us is quite difficult to climb in and out and there's no grip handles near. so it's quite dangerous for elderly. since the bathroom is big, it will be great if they can install standing shower. the basin pipe is spoil, so if you turn up for heavier flow of water, the water will spill from the pipe, causing wet floor. the bathroom room floor is very slippery too. 3) carpet for both rooms required cleaning badly. when we walk without shoe after shower, our soles will be all dirty when we reach the bed. hope these will be improved. it will be a better place to stay.
