Ashnil Mara Camp

We woke up every morning to the sound of hippos in the river, and that alone is magic to my ears! Loved every thing about the lodge. The buffet and cooking station had so much variety from breakfast throughout dinner. The personnel was lovely and called each guest by name, which made it so personal. The room with river view was exactly what I had dream of, and it was a lovely location deeper inside the park. Drivers stay at the property so makes it very convenient to go in and out for games. I did not use the pool but saw it was a plus for families with kids. As a couple, we found the property very romantic, especially the coffee tables by the river where to enjoy a drink before dinner.

We stayed at ashnil mara camp which I can’t recommend enough! We booked it through our safari company - best memory safaris (highly recommend). It’s right in the park so your drives start as soon as you leave the gate. Food and service was impeccable. We had a personalized server (Joseph), he knew us by name and was lovely. It was mid-range but felt like luxury. The tents were large with amazing bathroom facilities, strong shower pressure and private decks overlooking Mara river. Hippo views all day. Deers and monkeys at the camp. We also joined a sundowner arranged by the camp which was a really lovely experience.

The guides accommodation is pathetic with shower doors missing only torn curtains. The rooms are very small for two beds and the bedsheets are the smallest with poor quality materials Food in the tent for guides is just recycled from the wazungus restaurant and served to guides and left overs reheated again after the freezer storage...pathetic.

Stayed here three nights as part of six-week Tanzania/Kenya/Rwanda/Uganda safari. This camp is one of the top three accommodations of our entire safari. The staff (including Grace, Chris and Amos) provided personal attention typically received at a high-end accommodation. Our tent (#9) was comfortable and well-sealed. Delicious meals were served via an expansive buffet. Laundry service and prices were good (same day turnaround). Highly recommend!

What a perfect stay we had here! An oasis of comfort and service, nice view and relaxation. We absolutely enjoyed our stay here because of the friendly staff (especially Kimpai & Danson), the absolute super gamedrives, top accomodations and great food & service. We had a little heartache leaving this place. Thanks again for a never to forget holiday!

Amazing facility in the heart of Masai Mara Excellent location on Mara River Close proximity to lots of wildlife and convenience of being able to leave the lodge early to see wildlife at first light. The Ashnil team will provide hot coffee and snacks as early as 5 am, and you can request for a take away breakfast box to avoid having to rush back from game drives. Very good staff always willing to go the extra mood to make your staff comfortable

I and my family were at Ashnil Camp on May 2024 the place was fantastic and outstanding, exceeding my expectations, and the scenery at the lounge was exceptional viewing the Mara River and Hippos and crocodiles sunbathing in the morning hours. To my pleasure, the service and staff are amazing and always smiling except we had a messy and rude receptionist called Mercy she didn't attend to our request and was always on her gadget.

We stayed as a family of 4 and the experience was beautiful. They put us in a room that was adjoined by another room so our sons had their own beroom and ensuite too. It was like stepping back in time but with the modern luxuries. The little things that made it special was the turn down service in the evning - as we went in their winter period, they added a hot water bottle inside the bed. The surroundings were perfect, with the river nearby hosting crocodiles and hippos - which you could hear all night long!! The resort itself had a lovely swimming pool and a relaxation area where you could while away the day in between the morning and afternoon game drives. Lots of opportunities to view the hippos and crocs and take some amaing photos. The food at the restaurant catered for everyone and there was a good variety of food every day and different every day too. The staff here were exceptional - especially our waiters Joseph and Kennedy. Whenever we were there for breakfast, lunch and dinner they both gave us a very warm welcome and they would always ask about our game drives. In return Joseph would give us the most delightful storie of his own experiences of coming face to face with the wild animals. We always looked forward to seeing them and we will never forget their warm hospitality. So thank you Ashnil Mara Camp for making our trip to the Mara that extra special - we would highly reccommed this place to anyone.
