"I visited a friend in Trivandrum and wanted to continue south the next day, so I looked for a hotel outside the city. This one was a perfect match for me, and I really liked the overall experience. The location is indeed away from both the city and the beach, but in my case that was actually beneficial. The staff was very friendly, the rooms were clean, and I would definitely come back here."

"I had a fantastic stay of two nights at Abad Harmonia. Very service minded staff and clean facilities. The food cooked and served in the restaurant was amazing! As a bonus, the hotel arranged a surprise flower bouquet for my 50th birthday as requested by a friend of mine. I was very surprised and thankful for the gesture."

Somatheeram Ayurveda Village

Somatheeram Ayurveda Village ★★★★

📍 Chowara P O, South of, Adimalathura, Kovalam, Kottukal

"This was my first experience of an Ayurveda Centre anywhere in the world. As someone who is well travelled and advises others on their travel, I would highly recommend The Somatheeram Ayurveda Village. The rooms are not 5 star Western standard, but they are comfortable and have everything you need. The Ayurveda treatments you receive everyday are incredible. The care, the consideration and the medical supervision is all adapted to your needs and not set in stone, which for me was essential. The food was plentiful, freshly cooked and delicious. Every single staff member from the reception team, restaurant, to the gardeners were happy, smiley and willing to do everything to make my stay as pleasant as possible. There is daily yoga, meditation and swimming. The private beach is safe, the usual trades people but friendly! It is possible to go out on short trips to the Backwaters and also a fabulous village /school trip with Coastal Brains that I would also recommend. I organised these myself not through the hotel. The flexibility of being able to experience all three properties within the group, for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as any activities (apart from your treatments) is also a huge bonus. If you are considering an Ayurveda experience, even though it was my first experience and I do not have another centre to compare it with, I would not hesitate to recommend The Somatheeram Ayurveda Village, I wish I had booked 3 weeks and not just 2!!"

Soma Manaltheeram Ayurveda BeachVillage ★★★★
"Excellent stay and great service at Soma Manaltheeram! We were completely satisfied with our Panchakarma treatment at the Somatheeram Ayurveda Group². The staff was incredibly helpful, the food delicious, and the rooms were perfectly cleaned every day. We especially appreciated the routine medical check-ups before our daily massages. A heartfelt thank you to the resort manager for granting us a late check-out for our night flight. A truly wonderful stay! Katarina and Robert from Switzerland"

Abad Harmonia Ayurvedic Beach Resort ★★★
"Yet another wonderful holiday at the Abad Harmonia. The welcome by everyone makes for a very special stay. The pool and its surroundings are truly beautiful, a fantastic place to relax and unwind. We ate here every night and thoroughly enjoyed all our meals. The food is very reasonably priced and of the highest quality. As always we were very sad to leave but we will look forward to next year!"

Somatheeram Ayurveda Village ★★★★
"There are some experiences that go beyond words—Somatheeram is one of them. Nestled in the sacred, lush coastal beauty of Kerala, this place is not just a resort—it is a sanctuary for the soul. I arrived with the intention of doing Panchakarma, but I am leaving with so much more: a renewed body, a peaceful heart, and a deeper connection to my inner self. From the moment I arrived, I was embraced with warmth, care, and attentiveness that felt deeply genuine. The team at Somatheeram- every doctor, therapist, housekeeper, and staff member—be it at the reception or in the restaurant—offered their service with mindfulness and love. Their dedication went far beyond the expected. Whether it was tailoring meals not listed on the menu (black masala tea/lactose free desserts or gluten free meals) , checking in with sincere concern during treatments. Having previously experienced wellness at renowned places like Henri Chenot, I can honestly say that what Somatheeram offers is on a different level—deeper, purer, and more spiritually aligned. I leave with immense gratitude—for the wisdom of Ayurveda, for the sacredness of India, and most of all, for the extraordinary souls who make Somatheeram so special. Ps special thanks and deepest gratitude to the entire team. I’m thankful to Mr Baby Mathiew and his dear spouse for the flowers and personal call on my birthday. The hospitality is in the DNA of Somatheram; it goes beyond of what was expected. With my deepest thanks, Sholpan"

Ideal Ayurvedic Resort Kovalam ★★
"Booked at ideal but placed in Gods own country resort across the road. This wasnt an issue as we just walked across for breakfast. Varied ndian buffet as much as you want, fresh fruit and drinks, toast, eggs of every variation on offer. Friendly and attentive staff. Hotel lovely setting. Room rather dated and could definitely do with a spruce up but roomy and clean. Had to ask for room to be cleaned a couple of times. Fridge in room. A/C and fan. No kettle but quickly supplied one on request. We do like our early mornng cuppa! Lovely pool. Clean and quiet no issue with sunbeds. We did not have any treatments.. This is a vegetarian non alcoholic hotel so you will have to go to lighthouse or Kovalam beach for either. Shops and one restaurant local again no alcohol. As long as not too obvious alcohol can be purchased and brought back to rooms. Restaurant will sell to you at beaches. Also be aware cannot use uber and have to use the local drivrs from hotel and from the beaches. We had to use hotel car to take us to the airport but not expensive 13000 inr. Otherwise no issue. Use Uber where you can as a lot cheaper. Overall good value for money. Enjoy."
