Kosta Palace

The location is very convinient and the personel were friendly, but the management was too strict. We got 4 bed room with our trip.com reservation for a family four, but they wanted to charge extra 30 euros, claiming that our 16 year old dauther cannot be considered as child, even though I showed them a confirmed reservation form trip.com for a 3 adult and 1 child (in trip.com page under 18 year old kids are considered as child). They said they would give a discount of 3 Euros out of 30 Euros, showing a sympathy! We accepted to pay 27 Euros not to waste our short vacation time. But, then, they charged 3 more Euros at the check out time, saying that is for the tax and they forgot about it! The two beds for our son and dauther were sofas, not comfortable. The airconditioners were not cooling enough. The room quality is not for a 4-star hotel, barely 3-star hotel.
Aegean Houses
4.4/545 Reviews
Just spent a week at this hotel with my wife and had fabulous time. It is a relatively small hotel and is about a 20 minute walk from the harbour. There are lots of bars and restaurants nearby and a good supermarket about 100m up the road. The hotel was spotless throughout and the staff were all very friendly and exceptionally helpful. Our room was a good size and had a pleasant balcony looking out over the back of the property. The only thing that I can’t comment on is the food as we were self catering and went out and about to eat. I would certainly recommend Aegean Houses an we will be returning.
Kos Aktis Art Hotel
4.5/555 Reviews
Kos Aktis Art Hotel is a reasonably priced hotel that provides an unparalled sea view and comfort with a really kind and helpful front desk staff like Sofia. Breakfast served in the open air dining room right by the edge of the sea is delectable with a variety of hot and cold options to choose from. And the hotel is within easy walking distance to all the major attractions like the old town as well as the ferry port. Stay at Kos Aktis was truly a pleasant experience.

Primarily the hotel is in a fabulous location. On our last day I got up for the sunrise and had a swim directly in front of the hotel. No taxis, no bus, no extra cost. This is not advertised and it most definitely should be. It was one of the most beautiful experiences I had on Kos. The breakfast was good, with plenty of variety. The negatives could definitely be worked on. I booked a junior suite with a sea view for 3 adults. I asked by email that the room have 3 of everything as it was for 3 adults. When we arrived there was 2 bathrobes, 2 slippers, 2 big towels, 2 cups etc. On the balcony there were 2 seats. This was disappointing. I asked at reception for 3rd chair as there were bound 2 be rooms with only single occupancy to be told no. Furniture can't be moved. I asked the receptionist to check with a manager, this wasn't possible. Every morning breakfast finishes on the dot of 10.30. One morning we entered the dining room at 10, it was full. No tables, no crockery. We got a table at 10.15 and at 10.25 a waitress informed us breakfast finished at 10.30, which to me was a bit unreasonable. Every day there was oodles of food left at 10.30 and it was all carted away. I'd imagine it was thrown out. The coffee machine plugged out on the dot of 10.30. When guests are checking in they should be advised that breakfast is finished at 10.30 not that breakfast is available to 10.30 as basically they want you out of the dining room by 10.30.
Alexandra Hotel&Apartments
4.1/545 Reviews
Fantastic location near to a lot of interesting archaeological sites, marina, port and old town. Cleaned daily with frequent changes of bedding and towels. The shower is over the bath. Pool is too small so did not use but offered use of sister hotel pool about 45 minutes walk. Wi fi and air con good. Friendly efficient staff. We were self catering for 2 weeks and this was very very basic. We expected 2 cooking rings but for a 4 star hotel we were surprised there wasn't more than 2 of each cutlery and crockery. Although there were 3 pans there was no cutting board, sharp knife or cooking implements. See photo attached. We have stayed in 3star accommodation with far better self catering facilities.
Kos Divine Hotel & Suites
4.2/562 Reviews
This was my 3rd time back to Kos and staying at the Divine and it has been first class every time. The hotel itself is modern, spotlessly clean and is located in an ideal area near many restaurants, bars and shops. I stayed in a double room for 14 nights which was very comfortable and had everything you could need such as a fridge, kettle, remotely controlled air conditioning, plenty plug sockets, thick curtains that keep the room dark when the sun is out, a TV and a balcony to sit and relax on. My balcony looked out onto the local football pitch so that was a bonus being able to watch some football. The best thing about the hotel though is the staff. They are friendly, warm and always attend to guests needs with a smile. The bar and restaurant staff are really nice people and they made my stay what it was - great. I highly recommend staying at the Kos Divine Hotel & Suites. I would love to go back but I have been 3 times now and there are other countries and cities I need to visit and experience so don’t think I will be back but who knows…
