Greswolde Arms by Chef & Brewer Collection

We have just returned from a stay at the Greswolde Arms on 6/10 Everything was fantastic and everyone was really pleasant and helpful apart from the food which was diabolical. We ordered 2 burgers which were cold , a chicken strips and chips that was cold, and a roast beef that was cold with beef that could not be cut with a knife which I attempted to eat with my hands. I sadly have to say I am 61 years old and it it was the worst roast dinner I have ever eaten. We didn’t complain at the time as we were having a lovely evening and didn’t want to make a scene. I am also sure that everyone does their best to provide high quality food but on this occasion it failed miserably .

We booked into this hotel very last minute for two nights and were pleased there was a room available. This is probably because there were very few others staying! But nonetheless the room was just what we wanted and a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was very compact and there were problems with both the tap fittings on the basin, which were loose, and the toilet flush, which was also loose - a bit of TLC definitely needed. We ate breakfast two mornings running. As another reviewer wrote in July, this was disappointing. One morning coffee was available, the next sachets of instant coffee and hot water only. There were few cereals offered and the muesli was non-existent both days. The bread for toast was dry and felt like it had been recycled from the day before on the Sunday. The cooked food should have been delicious but was just not hot enough, served on cold plates and poached eggs which were over cooked, as if they had been waiting to be served and again there were only 3 couples at breakfast, so the staff were hardly pushed. Despite all of the above, the convenience of the hotel was paramount and the bedroom was very clean and we will book again when visiting Knowle.

I have been using here for meetings for a while now. Everything is prepared for us and the staff are amazing. They make sure we have everything we need. Food is excellent and plentiful. The hotel rooms are lovely, clean and comfortable. Highly recommend

First the bad news, having booked a year in advance one double and one single room both rooms were set up for single occupancy and due to a burst tank the hotel restaurant was out of bounds on night one and probably for the same reason our daughter in room 19 had no hot water for 2 nights. Now the good news, in recognition of the problems, we have been reimbursed for room 19.

We are the Probus Club of Solihull ,we recently visited the Greswolde Arms for our coffee morning, Samantha and Michelle are amazing members of staff members they made us very welcome and nothing was to much trouble , we are now using this place regularly for our coffee mornings keep the good work up.

Stayed one night on our way to Devon, would recommend this hotel to everyone, check in was quick and simple by a very pleasant young man, our room was fabulous, one sofa bed open ready made as we entered the room, tv, desk tea making facilities, round corner king-size bed, place for hanging clothes, iron ironing board, another tvand bathroom with bath, overhead shower 🚿 and soap, shampoo all there, we also had our evening meal which was delicious served by a friendly lady named Michelle, all in all fabulous

My family and partner organised a surprise 40th birthday celebration for me at The Greswolde Arms. The experience was wonderful. The staff: Michelle, Hayden, Adam, Catlin, Kieren and Mike were all so friendly and could not do enough to make the event special and memorable. The food served was also well presented and tasted delicious. Several members of the party opted to stay overnight in the hotel. The rooms were really well equipped, clean, modern and well decorated. Thank you all at the Greswolde Arms!

The hotel and the staff are good. The evening meals are good. The breakfast food is good, but the way breakfast is presented could improve. I stay quite regularly and I've noticed simple things like there being no cups and saucers at the breakfast self-service; the juices and the hot water having run out; and the cooked breakfast being served on cold plates. If it were not for these matters I'd give it 5*.

We had booked a table,in arrival we went to the Bar for drinks and then told a waitress we had a table booked,we were taken to our table and told she would return in a couple of minutes to take our order.We were left waiting 20minutes and still no staff around,we were the only diners in there so I went looking for somebody finally a man appeared and said you okay,I said can we order.He came to our table and my Husband said we've been left here waiting it no apology and when we said is there anyone to cook our food he said I don't know so we got up and said forget it were leaving and would be doing a review,he just laughed and was mumbling under his breathe.What a terrible attitude to have with paying customers.We went to the Drum & Monkey and what a delight,staff very efficient friendly and the food was excellent.To think it's the same group but obviously run professionally and value custom.
