in der altstadt, direkt an der historischen „kettenbrücke“ gelegen, feine zimmer: blick zur kurischen nehrung wählen (!), das personal spricht englisch, das hoteleigene restaurant hat den blick zum sonnenuntergang und leckeres essen, strand und fähranleger sind von hier aus gut erreichbar, auf der anderen flusseite gab es zum zeitpunkt unseres besuches 2 grosse baustellen, die früh morgens anfingen: vielleicht fragen, ob die schon fertig sind

Das Hotel Old Mill ist ein aufwendig restauriertes altes Fachwerkhaus in toller Lage direkt mit Blick auf den Hafen und die Fußgängerfähre zur Kurischen Nehrung. In 5 Minuten ist man zu Fuß in der Altstadt. Unser Zimmer war hell mit einer kompletten Glaswand – eben zum Hafen hin. Durchaus geräumig; gute Betten. Ausreichend Lichtquellen. Das Bad ist eher klein; mit wenig Möglichkeiten, Kosmetika, Zahnpasta, Seife abzulegen. An der Rezeption saß stets eine ausgesprochen freundliche und hilfsbereite Mitarbeiterin. Der Service im Frühstücksraum wirkte dagegen nicht nur überfordert, sondern er war es – an 4 Morgenden jeweils nur mit einer Mitarbeiterin besetzt – und das obwohl an einem Morgen eine ganze Busladung zu versorgen war. Nur e i n e Kaffeemaschine für mehr als 50 Gäste – das gab natürlich überlange Wartezeiten. Das Frühstück selber eher einfach, wenig einfallsreich. Müslischalen standen nur an 2 von 4 Morgenden bereit, sonst musste man sich mit Tassen behelfen. Brot wurde auch nur mäßig, manchmal gar nicht nachgelegt. So wurde das Frühstück eher zu einer Art Pflichtübung. Schade – bei einem Hotel, das sonst durchaus besser als nur Durchschnitt ist. Immerhin haben wir vier Nächte lang gut schlafen können.

A wonderful place, in the very center of Klaipeda, very close to the Old Port, so the sea is very easy to reach :) The rooms are clean, the staff is helpful :) The choice of breakfast is not very rich, but it was really enough to eat :) The room has air conditioning, a kettle, and tea. The room itself is small, but cozy :)

Everything was good with our rooms and we truly were glad to have the tasty and precious looking meals at a very spaceful place, but the workers were a bit cold and didn’t know much about the hotel themselves…. The closest shop is a 15 min walk away.

The best thing about the hotel is of course its appearance and location. This neat hotel is located in a beautifully converted warehouse at the port of Klaipeda. Unfortunately, parking is not free in the area. We were warmly welcomed and given a neat room. Enough space and a beautiful view. The bathroom was certainly spacious enough for us. It's just a shame that the bathroom extractor makes so much noise. The breakfast wasn't great, or did we set too high standards? All in all a great hotel to explore Klaipeda.

Everything was okay, but checking out, we wouldn't be allowed to use the automatic coffee machine and we were charged 5 euros for a double espresso. I mean, being guests, it's not polite at all. We weren't coming from the street as non hotel users. Also, the most expensive coffee ever.
