Mariner Inn and Suites

This was booked for our one week family vacation. We have a two year-old and wanted to take a beach vacation. This hotel had rave of views and the pictures online look amazing. They were also great views the hotel room. However, when we got there the room was Old and the kitchenette was pretty gross. it seems part of the hotel has been renovated, and those are the pictures they use on their site as opposed to using the actual old rooms they still have as well. I wanted a hotel room with a kitchenette so we could cook, but there's no way I would've cooked anything in there. you had to access the bathroom through the bedroom and the vanity was actually in the bedroom so it was impossible to put the baby to sleep early without waking her if you had to go to the bathroom or get ready for bed. Everything just felt a little sticky. The couch in the living room was plastic. Was great, but you couldn't open the window so there was no way to get fresh air. However, there was a man constantly smoking cigarettes under the no smoking sign outside of his room so not sure how fresh the air would be. This place was so uncomfortable. We decided we couldn't stay there and discuss our concerns with ******* who we booked through but the hotel forced us to pay for two nights when we only stayed for one even though the conditions were atrocious. I only give this place two stars because the front desk lady when we got there was very nice and the views are nice.

A cancellation was made in an appropriate timeframe according to policy for a Full refund, but the deposit is being “forfeited” (according to management) regardless of said policy. The manager of the hotel will not return calls or emails.

Folks at Mariner are very easy to work with regarding my reservation and upcoming stay. I know winter stays can be difficult but the staff went above and beyond to accommodate my reservation request. Cant wait to be there this weekend.

Quiet and clean. Staff was friendly, and the breakfast was pretty good. Right off the beach and only .8 miles to Avon pier

Property little outdated though very clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Nice to be able to walk steps to the beach or pool. Complimentary breakfast was nice touch!

This place was pretty great. My room was a queen suite and it was very clean and updated. The breakfast every day was absolutely excellent. Plenty of choices. The staff was super nice. The pool could use a little updating but it was clean, and they actually had workers there cleaning it as well. I would definitely stay here again. I was in room 140 and next time I would opt to stay upstairs because it’s very loud downstairs when people are getting up super early, but that is not the fault of the hotel.

I spent nearly $800 for 2 nights in the "Deluxe Suite with Sea View" and it was a DISASTER. The rooms are about 40 years outdated, literally. The AC unit leaked on the floor causing wet carpet. The bathroom ceilings are so low and textured with what feels like razor wire that I scraped the skin off my knuckles hanging up a towel. The sea view suite has no private balcony or area to sit outside and enjoy the view, there are entry points on either side of the room surrounded by walking paths like you'd expect at a Super 8. The restroom smelled of urine and mildew. The TV did not work for the first 2 days until they finally provided a ROKU I complained to ********** about this knowing having booked through them and prepaid the hotel would simply refer me to them, and they provided a $75 credit. That's it. The hotel, of course, refused to issue ANY refund because the only complaint I made was to ********** This feels like a catch 22 as a customer, since if you complain to the hotel directly they refer you to **********, but if you complain to **********, they check with the property, and if there is no record of complaint the property denies any refund. I never write bad reviews, I hate giving businesses bad publicity or being "that guy", but this was one of the worst values for the money I've ever experienced. If you're looking for something nice, private, on the water with a view, this is NOT the place. Ignore the 8.0 rating.
