This is a first class hotel! I highly recommend. Ask for Lucky at the bar. He is wonderful and makes the best cocktails!! I will definitely return. This is a perfect place to stay if you want to unwind and relax and eat amazing food! Make sure you try the ravioli!!

The best experience at the retreat. the staff are SO amazing. the service is top notch. the food is the best i’ve had in all of africa. the massages were the best i’ve had in all of africa. Lucky is the best bartender of all time. Drinks are truly one of a kind. everyone is so nice and accommodating. can’t wait to come back here

Lovely and peaceful resort. The staff are incredibly warm and helpful. Breakfast really good, setting lovely. I would stay there again for sure.....................................................................................

Spent 2 fabulous days here. The manager Kevin Mbugua was great at responding to queries and requests. Held 2 private functions and the entire team was amazing. The rooms were fantastic too. Loved the abundance of towels in the rooms and the heated private pool.

Our first stop in Kigali was at The Retreat. Gorgeous room with a private pool, 2 outdoor showers and our own private tropical garden. We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast poolside. Staff was delightful, I only wish we could have stayed longer than one night.

Wir hatten als Familie 2 Nächte im Retreat by Heaven Kigali gebucht und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt! Das Haus liegt zentral, aber trotzdem ganz ruhig, sehr freundliches Team, schönes Design mit landestypischem Kunsthandwerk, viel Holz, herrlicher Garten mit üppiger Vegetation. Große, gut ausgestattete Badezimmer mit Innen- und Außendusche. Hervorragendes Frühstück; für den Abend gibt es ein Fusion-Restaurant und das 'Heaven', in dem typisch ruandische Gerichte angeboten werden, die uns hervorragend geschmeckt haben!

This place is amazing. The rooms and the hotel are gorgeous but the staff are wonderful. I have never encountered such a wonderful welcome. Today I had a cooking class with chef Smith and it was so much fun. I highly recommend it. It’s a beautiful place to relax. The food is really good and they have a huge wine selection. I would stay here again and hope I do soon!

The Retreat by Heaven is a beautiful oasis in the middle of Kigali. The grounds are lovely and our room well appointed, unfortunately there was a construction project behind the hotel which interrupted the tranquility of the setting to a small degree. The two restaurants on the property serve wonderful food but our dinning experience was made more enjoyable by two employees Derrick and Happiness. They both went above and beyond and always greeted us with warm smiles and genuine hospitality.

We had the fortune of staying at this lovely property both before and after gorilla trekking, and it truly is a retreat. The rooms and facility are clean and comfortable, the food was delicious, and we loved the work the on-site tailor made with Rwandan fabrics. (We ended up buying a couple of bathrobes.) Most importantly, we were so impressed by the fantastic staff -- friendly, warm, welcoming and fun; they made us feel like family. Our only regret is that we didn't have more time to enjoy the property and the pool; two nights wasn't enough. We highly recommend The Retreat when you're next in Kigali.
