Residence Inn Grand Rapids Airport

When I come to Grand Rapids I like to stay where I feel welcomed and comfortable. I usually stay at this Marriott when I am in town and typically have no issues. However, during this stay I had the PLEASURE of meeting Ms. Krisanne. Krisanne was not only rude, but mean and nasty. Ruined my stay. I will NOT be returning to this Marriott as long as Krisanne remains an employee here.

This hotel is nestled in the forest without the usual traffic sounds. It was clean in our room. The breakfasts were excellent. My husband was surprised by all the options. The pool area was clean and we were able to do our laundry quickly (Uses a card only. $2.50 per wash and dry.). Overall, we were happy to stay for 5 days. The staff was also friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

Excellent hotel. It is situated in a quiet setting, setback from the main road, with restaurants and shopping nearby. Our 2 bedroom was clean and tidy and perfect for the 3 of us. The complimentary breakfast was adequate and maybe could use a boost. What makes this hotel standout is that all of the staff members are friendly, helpful, and welcoming. I don't usually single out staff members as I've been asked at other hotels to highlight their staff in my review. In this case, though, I must say that Mario was exceptional, and was born for the hospitality industry. He is a true gem and made our stay just that much more enjoyable.

Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet, and the staff was amazing! Jeremiah at the front desk was so friendly and welcoming it was like greeting a friend every day. Kim did a fantastic job keeping the breakfast buffet full and spotlessly clean. Housekeeping and the pool maintenance guy were also super nice. Great variety of hot breakfast options along with plant-based milk options. There's a small basketball court and walking path outside which is a nice alternative to the workout room. Other reviewers commented about the pool being cold, but it's probably around 82-84 degrees which is typical of public pools used by lap swimmers. It's "refreshing" for recreational swimmers but fine once you get used to it. Beware of the driveway entrance directions from Google maps, there is no left turn allowed there. If you're coming from that direction, turn at the light by the furniture store instead and use the frontage road. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars overall is because the pool deck wasn't entirely clean, the same bits of rubber sat there for a couple of days. We also fished an earring back off the bottom of the pool after stepping on it.

I booked a room here for a last-minute trip to Grand Rapids with my two granddaughters. What a pleasant experience all around! The hotel was extremely clean, the pool was just right after a day at the zoo and the outdoor patio with comfortable furniture and a firepit were perfect! We even played a quick round of basketball on their small court; the desk receptionist gave the girls a basketball to use! The breakfast bar had a nice variety and the server/hostess was very attentive to the room of guests. The entire staff was kind, pleasant and helpful. They all went out of their way to make us feel welcome! I've stayed at a lot of hotels, and the Staff here is at the top of the list for hospitality!!

Everything was wonderful with my stay here. My room exceeded my expectations, and I am picky with OCD. The friendliness of the staff was phenomenal. Hot breakfast foods. I did not visit the pool or fitness areas, but it looked nice. I'm a light sleeper and my room was very quiet. I will stay here again if in the area.

One night stay as it was close to the airport for an early morning flight. Hotel was nice, clean and convenient. Had a room on the 2nd floor that was very nice and the bed/pillows were comfortable. For the Monday morning travel, there was no airport shuttle so they scheduled a ride pick up with John and John never showed! However, one of the employees took me to the airport. Very nice! Ok, I took one star away for the shuttle situation because that was a little stressful. BUT all 4 stars go to Mario!! He is just awesome and restored my faith in the customer service industry. Such a bright friendly spirit that made us all smile! I’d stay here again just to have Mario brighten my day!

This is a terrific Residence Inn. The staff is amazing - friendly, helpful, cheerful, and kind. The rooms are newly remodeled and are great. The elevators run smoothly and fast. It sits back a bit from 28th street so it is quiet and a peaceful setting. The bar b que pit works great and the fire pit is cozy and inviting area. Always see kids on the basketball court. Just a great hotel stay.
