We spent two nights in a lake side view room. The restaurant is still not available but there are options for dinning with a short drive or even a short walk. We ate at Casey’s and we had a good meal with good service (yummy Red pepper soup) and we were able to walk to Lake of the Woods Brewing Company (fantastic service and superb food!) Our view from our room made for a relaxing stay. The cleanliness of the room was refreshing (I always Lysol wipe everything upon entry but even with this I saw no signs of dirt) The room was modern and comfy. We enjoyed our time relaxing on the dock watching the sunset as well. I wouldn’t mind making this trip here again seeing as there were pretty hikes and lots to do.

I called to book directly with the hotel to ensure we got the suite we wanted. We’re driving across Canada and wanted to splurge a bit. Our suite was $600 / night. Very surprised at the exterior as it appeared run down. Got to the lobby and it was quite modern, new. THE ENTIRE HOTEL IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION AND THERE IS NO RESTAURANT. NOTHING. No one told us at time of booking, nothing. We cancelled our booking and left. The challenge was that as English speaking Canadians, it was almost impossible to communicate with the multicultural staff. I believe conversational English should be a prerequisite.

The hotel has been beautifully renovated and has modern fixtures. The beds are incredibly comfortable and the bedding felt fresh and clean. The rooms and common areas were immaculately clean. There was a rain shower and handheld shower, which was a nice touch. The microwave and fridge are enclosed in a large built-in cupboard. There’s a nice big counter to put your things, and a bench when you get into the room as well. The bench has a shelf at the bottom for shoes, which was a nice touch. There were four sconce lamps and lighting behind the headboards. There were two more funky decorative lamps as well. I had the city view, which wasn’t as nice as the lake view but still nice!

Newly renovated hotel. Room was comfortable and clean. Complimentary water daily was a simple but nice touch. Renovations are still underway on the exercise room and restaurant which should be completed in time for the summer 2024 tourist season. Close and easy walk to downtown.
