Lovely location for an afternoon tea, unfortunately there were no seats offered with a view of the river. The afternoon tea was quite disappointing, the sandwiches had obviously been sat around for a while, scones were tiny, and the cakes were average although plentiful. The fresh fruit was indeed fresh and a nice touch. The staff were friendly and efficient but sadly it was not worth the price paid.

Overall excelleny stay, beautiful river view and gardens, rom was lovely, and spacious with views out to the river tweed Staff especially at dinner were excellent, short staffed at breakfast resulting in delays, quite cool in the dining room throughout

Time for our annual autumn fishing break on the River Tweed and we always stay at Ednam House This is the classic old-fashioned hotel and you always get a lovely greasing from Margaret on reception who has been at the hotel for the past 25 years The rooms are somewhat dated and the water pressure throughout is pretty poor, but the house has a certain character that appeals to the older generation like my wife and myself JAMES, who runs the bar is a very affable chap and Roddy who sorts out the dining arrangements in the evening is a very happy chap In the morning, Sheena is always there to sort you out with a big Scottish breakfast which includes haggis and black pudding, which is just the tackle that you need to sort the day out All in all it is great fun and we very much look forward to our visits in the spring next year

An elegant property decorated with an historic flavor like plaster ceiling decoration. Could attract hunters and anglers. Breakfast made to order and service quality make this hotel a charm. Good location close to the main square of this quaint village.

In all, we really enjoyed our stay. I lowered my DINING value due to very poor service on the Saturday and Sunday mornings as several of our members were subjected to excessive waits for their food. In several cases up to nearly an hour.. This was totally improved on the MONDAY morning. Apart from that all dining experiences were excellent.

We booked 6 rooms for one night. Rooms were overall comfortable and clean though slightly tired. I expected this. Great location. Good breakfast. Staff welcoming. The 11 of us would all stay again.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will definitely stay again. The only negative comments are that the carpet in my room (17) would benefit from a clean and the breakfast staff could be a little more attentive with regard to replenishing items that have run out without the customer having to ask. The hotel is a beautiful old building in a superb location.

Hotel was friendly but our attic room was below standard expected of a hotel. Our room was very small and the shower and toilet closet did not function properly. Shower hit the door rather than the body and could not be adjusted. Toilet seat was loose - would not stay there again until hitel upgraded and refurbished. Shame as dining room staff were excellent and helpful
