Hotels Near National WWI Museum and Memorial in Kaw Township

The hotel was great!! It was very clean, updated, and close enough to walk to the power and light district. Beware of the parking garage right next to the hotel that cost $18 to park though. Our catalytic converter was cut and stolen straight off our car. It seems to be a recurring crime in KC right now!!

The hotel is under construction and the noise was extremely loud. The manager on duty was snide before she hung up on me. Only for her to call back and offer a meal comp. Upon checking out, we were advised that we had to go back into the ****** to receive our meal comp. After going all the way back into the ****** getting our cards, then going to the restaurant and eating nothing was on the cards, and nothing was comped. My wife and I saved up to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary and we chose to spend it there only to have a very dissatisfying experience. We could not even hear ourselves talk in our own rooms. Then to be treated like that by the management just made this completely unacceptable.

Pros -Seems like a recently refurbished hotel with relatively fast lifts. -Clean, large twin beds carpeted room with enough power points, iron and board, safe box, large TV, hair dryer, soap, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, coffee maker that can double up as kettle (flip the lid to find instructions on how to use). -Comfortable bed and pillows. -Aircon worked well (no heater) but can be slightly noisy. -Indoor heated pool and equipped gym. -Quiet and seems safe as it's away from tourist areas. -convention center connected to hotel Cons -Showerhead is fixed but good pressure, can change the water flow pattern, and easy to control water temperature/water heats up quickly. -Room can be relatively dim at night cos there are only 3 warm light lamps around. This is not a problem in the day time when sun comes in the large window. -Doors are thin so you can hear people outside talking or your neighbour if you're in a connected room. -Not much dining choices in the hotel or convention centre. Nearest fast food is 20 mins walk away -- Chick-fil-A or whataburger. Nearest open air mall or Walmart about 30 mins walk away.

Very nice place to visit and stay. Friendly staff and nice maintenance pool to cool off on this hot Kansas days. Highly recommend

The room is big, there is a creek next to the hotel, you can walk along the river. There is free breakfast and parking lot, and it is relatively close to the highway and costco, so it is convenient to travel.

On 06/13/2024, my family checked in the hotel in room 217. The room appeared very cleaned; my granddaughter decided to rest. She pull the cover back and saw a small bug crawling in the bed & the sheets & mattress were very soiled & dirty. After checking on google lens, it revealed it was a bedbug. I took it to the front desk clerk. She ask for the cup & refused to give it back. Also, she refused to provide her name. She stated, she will refund all of our money and she proceeded to check us out. After checking my credit card statement, she charged my card. I will be disputing it with my credit card company. Bedbug problem at Microtel by Hilton- Kansas City Airport in Room 217. Please stay away!!!

I've actually stayed here 3 times in the past month. I/we had to take 3 trips to check in on family situations and each time we stopped here overnight. We've stayed here a couple times in past years as well. Positive: Excellent service. I saw staff go out of their way to help guests with minor issues. I saw staff work to make sure guests were comfortable (checking in to see if everything was fine, etc.). The third time we were there the hotel had 3 sports teams (children) staying at the hotel. They worked to place others on the 3rd floor to limit the noise from the kids. (This would not bother me, but it was nice that the staff were trying to accommodate all needs). Breakfast is good. Mostly standard fare, but slightly different choices. Reasonably clean. Accessible location for us. Room is not large, but there is plenty of space for two people. Has nice hooks and places to place luggage. One minor hitch: The first of my recent 3 visits had a used washcloth still hanging on the shower rod. Didn't bother me, I just ignored it. I mentioned it at check-out and the staff apologized and indicated they would work to see that didn't happen again. The rest of the room was quite clean so I was unconcerned. The point here is that the staff reacted well. One other comment: It used to be very easy to get in and out of this hotel. It is still reasonable, but over the last year the area at this interchange has starting being developed. It is creating a lot more traffic at this location so in and out is not quite as easy.
