Toa Hotel & Spa Zanzibar

It’s my first time in Zanzibar, I spent two nights at this hotel and a night in another hotel, all I can say is that this hotel is wonderful, rooms are clean, food is nice and above all the staffs are lovely, very friendly and helpful, I’ve been to many hotels in different countries but I can give a high thumb for the staffs of Toa hotel, The General Manager, Lucas that received me upon arrival and the best of all The Front Desk Manager ESTHER, thanks a lot for the hibiscus Juice the day I arrived and the last cup you gave me before I leave, you never knew but it’s my best and I’ll come back for it again in sha Allah. You gave me free wine lucky I don’t drink alcohol I had to return it back to you, thank you so much and I’ll recommend thousands to use your hotel if I have to and I’m sure you’ll never let them down. +Modern, extremely comfortable room and facilities. +Helpful and friendly staff around every corner. +Generous management: free late checkout, offered a room upgrade and free breakfasts for minor inconvenience with the fan in our room. +Buffets vary every day with on-demand pasta bar. +Good size pool. +Lovely private beach area +Hotel cats +Surrounded by lush tropical gardens +Live music every night +Free ice cream at the beach bar +Great souvenir shopping on the beach huts, just a few steps from the hotel +Hotel shop for essentials +Power cuts are quickly resolved +Wonderful service especially from Eli-Huruma, who went out of his way to make our stay perfect without being too pushy +Delicious hibiscus juice -floor-level rooms adjacent to walkways don't have a lot of privacy in their patios. Recommend higher floor rooms. -quite a lot of seaweed in the area and intense low tide (couldn't see the sea at all sometimes), but that's nature! -wish there were more lounging options around the pool as it's so nice! There's lots of space on the beach but it can also get windy there. Space around the pool is sometimes tight. -although breakfast is officially from 07:00, it takes a while to get fully set up and staffed. Can be a problem when heading out to early excursions, but most of the time it's not an issue. -concierge tours and transfers are charged separately from the hotel, and don't have a clear pricing visible. There was some confusion about how much our first transfer was, as the hotel had quoted us a lower price than what we were asked to pay at the end. All got sorted, though! -the secondary, long thin pool is a bit of a slipping hazard as there's no railings. It looks very cool, though. I'd like to highlight that all the negatives I've listed are extremely minor and in no way got in the way of our lovely stay. I couldn't imagine anyone being disappointed here!

Everyone here is so nice. Beautiful spacious rooms. Everyone is constantly asking how your day is going and how they can improve your stay. Super clean place. Live music at night. Go and see for yourself! Shout out to Big!! He’s super nice. Get the margarita from Ernest the bartender. So good. Not too sweet!

We stayed at TOA Hotel & Spa in early October for our honeymoon. We booked a sea view room all inclusive for 5 nights. The hotel was lovely, the staff were very friendly, the food was varied so no chance of getting bored with the same food day after day. The room and hotel were immaculate, looking just as good as the photos. We were also upgraded to the honeymoon sweet on our last day which was a very nice gesture. The only negative point would be the all inclusive drinks/cocktail list was pretty limited. Whilst they had a menu of 20+ cocktails to choose from, the list for all-inclusive guests was much smaller and a little bit niche. We would definitely stay again, but maybe full board opposed to all inclusive next time.

We had an absolutely fantastic time at TOA Hotel & Spa in Zanzibar! Everything exceeded our expectations — from the excellent food to the friendly and welcoming service. A special mention goes to Jeremiah at the bar, who made our experience even more enjoyable with his positive and fun attitude. He always ensured we had a great time! We’d also like to give a big shoutout to Ester, Zamzam, and Said at the reception for their outstanding service and warm hospitality. Lastly, a huge thank you to the housekeeping team who did a phenomenal job every day, keeping everything spotless and comfortable. We can’t wait to come back! Highly recommended!

Awesome small hotel. Something like 80 rooms. The thing that set them over the top for us is their hospitality. We arrived late night to the hotel, after dinner was done. They took it upon themselves to have small plate made for each of us waiting which was awesome forward thinking. They also separated the bed for us into two singles immediately after realizing it was set up incorrectly. This required bringing in another mattress. Mind you it’s like 11 pm almost. The only negative for some is if you have a room close to the main lobby and only restaurant, the party may go later than desired and you will find yourself listening to the loud cackling, music and so forth. The pool bar is also in same area. And for those who are having a great time they will continue the party after dinner. So request room far away from restaurant and pool bar if you like to have A quieter night although it didn’t go part midnight, it felt like it was a lot of noise.

What a hotel!!! We stayed for 3 nights in Toa for our honeymoon, and it was absolutely amazing!! Every single person working there is very happy to serve and take care of you! They will always try to fulfill any special requests you have, with a smile on their face! They even gave us a complementary romantic dinner on our last night, which was the perfect finish to our stay! The hotel is super clean, and the rooms are super nice!

Toa was a w9nderful experience. I came here with my husband after leaving stone town for our anniversary and they did not disappoint. We arrived early ( before check in time) and were accomadated with a temporary room. During this wait period our honeymoom suite qith private pool room was occupied by a couple who had become ill. For our inconvenience we were upgraded to all inclusive. Ali the manager as well as all the staff eent above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. We learned every single persons name and stayed up late many times at the pool bar lauging and learning new songs with the staff. The food was outstanding, different every night and available in the beach. The entertainment was beyond and even got me dancing, not your standard large resort cheesy entertainment. The beach was lovely, high tide good for swimming and low tide you can walk out for at least 500 meters. I would rate this as one of my best stays of all my abroud travels. If you see any poor reviews of this place or the staff, that person must be insane or just not down to have a good time.This was my first time in Africa but wont be my last. Thank you Toa
