The room is very different from the picture. Room condition is dirty and old(the worst condition I stayed in Zanzibar) The worst thing was the attitude of reception staffs and the boss. They are too rude and disrespectful and unpleasant. Because the room is very different from the picture, I requested refund, the boss responded in rude manner and no refund. The room is rusty and dirty. The drain hole in bathroom is clogged with hair. And swimming is impossible because ebb tide. It was the worst hotel I have ever stayed. Thank you for no refund and giving me an opportunity to share my worst experience ever with whom considering Diamonds Mapenzi. I recommend you never make a reservation. Please do go other hotel.

First time in Diamond Mapenzi Beach and we receive fabulous services the food is very delicious, evening entertainment show are very unique qnd professionally african food and Karaoke, shout out to Jamal to teach African dance and Aqua gym. Big thank to recreation team Kombo, Khamis Herieth. Nice service and good thank to Muhammed and Abdul from the restaurant and bar we really love this place we had world class services. When you go in Zanzibari please chose Diamond Mapenz beach you won't regret for that full recommend this piece of heaven.

The Best place in Africa and the best italian hospitality. Place to be has a lot of facilities. Food and drinks is perfect everything in Mapenzi has well maintaine from begining to end we rally enjoyed the aqua and perfect Recreation service special thank Mr Jamal for his hospitality and his professional. Beach is very clean and hotel has spacious room with immaculate sunbeds. Best place to be

We visited Mapenzi Beach in November 2022 and had a fabulous stay. You need to appreciate this isn't like your normal hotels, but the second you do, you definitely feel like you're on holiday! The rooms were basic and clean but a great size, same for the bathroom. Air-conditioning always worked well. They always came round in the evening to turn down the mosquito nets. The food was fantastic at every meal, always fresh, plenty of options, full of flavour and warm. All the staff were lovely and very helpful. The beach was always clean and the staff would bring sunbeds to you if there weren't any available. The only downside is when the sea is out, you do get very harassed by the Samurai men if you want a walk. If you talk to one, suddenly you're surrounded, which is very intimidating. Side note: all pictures/brochures don't seem to say or show that there are quite a few steps at this hotel - so if you do struggle with steps - this may not be the hotel for you unfortunately.

I want to sincerely thank the hotel team for their incredible service. Every staff member was friendly and kind, making us feel right at home from the very beginning. The food was absolutely delicious, with a wide variety of options We stayed in a villa overlooking the sea, and I can’t begin to describe how spectacular it was. The private pool with ocean views was simply a dream come true. Watching the sunrise from there was magical and created memories we will cherish forever. Thank you for such a wonderful experience. We’ll definitely be back soon. Highly recommended!

We stayed there for one week, August 2024, following a Safari. Lovely place, we had a beach front villa. The staff were friendly and attentive and the food excellent.
Would thoroughly recommend.

Hemos estado unos días por nuestra luna de miel y nos ha encantado. Destacar la simpatía y amabilidad de TODO el personal, así como la limpieza. Tuvieron varios detalles por nuestra luna de miel como dejarnos una pequeña cena en la hab, decoración, y al día sig el jardinero me entregó un ramo de flores hecho por él. El bufet de comida era variado y rico; y todos los días tienen actividades de entretenimiento, sin embargo, durante nuestra estancia, no tenían mucho éxito de convocatoria.. igual falta un poco de llamamiento, xq los muchachos encargados de ellas tb eran encantadores (Elisha, Oufi, Pascal..!) Otro punto a favor es q la playa es privada y cuenta con vigilantes
