It worked for what we needed it for, but I wouldn’t stay there again. Old and worn, plus a huge brown recluse spider in the sink.

We stayed here for one night passing through, based on the low rates and the pet friendly policy. It did the trick, however it was not up to what I consider brand standards. The property was old, you could hear through the walls (even snoring!) and the front desk staff, although friendly, were not the most efficient. On the plus side, the parking lot is large - so good for trucks/trailers. I also appreciated the police camera light thing in the lot for safety. We also liked the actually travel size toiletries in the room - so rare these days!

Diamond elite IHG member here who has stayed at this site annually for the past 4 years. Terrible experience checking in. Clerk was rude and took 15 minutes to check me in even though I had already reserved a king suite handicap accessible room a week in advance. He gave me a queen room, not handicap accessible room with no explanation. Room was as far away as possible from the elevator making walking there difficult. He would not allow Uber Eats to deliver my order to the room. Carpet and furniture was badly stained. This is the last time I will be staying here.

You pull in and the parking lot if full of weeds, grass is not cut and brown. There is a camera stand in the middle of the parking lot. 2 homeless passed out in front of the pool part of the building. The outside of the building is discolored and falling apart. The experience only gets worse once you enter, we walk up to check in, and the person behind the desk does not welcome you, is short in answers and annoyed to be checking you in. He then says after 8 the only door that works is the front door. We then head to our room, and there is stains on the carpet that are oddly pink/red. We get to the door and it has obviously been broken into before as it has pry bar marks on the door and door frame. We get into the room and the bathroom is dirty, walls are stained, drywall screws are uncovered all over the walls. We left to head to a Royals game, on the way out I ask the person at the desk(different one) if the area is safe, they chuckle and say I guess. Could tell it's a forced lie. We come back from the game and there are now 3 people passed out in the lot at 9 pm. We pack our stuff and leave. I stay at numerous holiday inns and hotels in general every year, this is the worst hotel I have ever entered...

I was very disappointed by this hotel in almost every way. It was probably very nice at one time, but not so much now. Almost all of the room doors show marks and patching. The hallways had trash in them. The shower in our room had a significant amount of hair left visible in the shower (see pic) and more that came out of the drain when the water was turned on. We ran out of toilet paper in the room and were only there for one night. The toilet seat had a broken screw or something and shifted around. The AC did not adequately cool the room. We had to request bedding for the sofa bed and additional towels. There was still an hour of the breakfast serving when we went down and much of the food was gone or almost gone.

We've stayed at this Holiday Inn Express twice - both times for one night because of its convenience to Kauffman Stadium. We'd have no other reason to stay here. The hotel is typical Holiday Inn Express so you know what you'll get. The usual breakfast is included. The hotel attracts sport clubs in town for competitive games, and a softball team was there the night we were. Because rooms were scarce when I reserved, the price seemed much higher than I've paid at other Holiday Inn Expresses. This particular hotel is showing some wear and tear and probably hasn't been renovated in a while. There are scuff marks on the walls and the room furnishings are okay. After the ball game, we intended to move downtown for an additional two nights in Kansas City.

this is a very tired run-down hotel. We stopped here last year for a Royals game and let the condition go because it was close to the ballpark. Not this time. Both times the staff has been exceptional, but the hotel is run-down and feels dirty. They do not have the pumps in the bathrooms and are not free with the accessory soaps and shampoos. The breakfast was sparse, and they do not have the Holiday Inn sweet rolls. Barely any bread selection, no fruit, no hard-boiled eggs, a pitcher of 2% milk but again, the staff was exceptional but we will drive farther next time

My daughter and I stayed here when I brought her to town for the Taylor Swift Concert. When we finally managed to get into the parking lot (after having to make a u-turn, since it's on a divided highway), we were immediately crestfallen. You can tell from the condition of the exterior of the building and the parking lot that the whole property is run down. When we checked in, the desk clerk told us that our room was ready, but that housekeeping would be up "soon" with towels. The room was clean, but not sparkling, and led me to believe that minimal effort had been expended by the housekeeping staff. The air conditioner in our room was barely adequate to keep up with the humidity, so we cranked it down, but I was concerned the compressor would freeze over since it was running hard all night. When my 100 lb (soaking wet) daughter sat on the end of the bed, it folded around her like a taco shell, so the mattresses and box springs are clearly worn. I thought I might wind up on the floor when I went to bed. The shower drain was non-functional, and by the time I finished washing my hair (I have a buzz cut, BTW), I was standing in ankle-deep water. By 8:30, the breakfast bar was picked over, but given the cleanliness issues, we weren't planning to eat there anyway. For this fantastic experience, we paid $275 for one night. I will absolutely not be back.

Room upkeep is awful. Broken tiles in bathroom floor easy to cut your feet on, patch repairs in room are really tacky looking, the cabinet door for the fridge area wouldn’t stay shut had to prop a trash can in front of it to keep it closed. The drain for the tub is rusty and partially clogged, the maids didn’t even attempt to fix it. When we checked in the toilet was plugged up, had to get a plunger to fix it ourselves. If you go here, be careful walking in, there is a giant tile missing in the entry way. Massive tripping hazard. The swimming pool is out of service, no big deal to me but I can’t help but wonder for how long and why now. Especially in Kansas City were it can get hot and really muggy. So heads up there if you have kids or plan on cooling off after a long day. The lady at the check in desk was nice, the proximity to the stadiums was nice too, about the only positives I can really dig up from this place. The room was not serviced the first day there. Went to ask why because we were gone in plenty of time for the maids to make their round, only to be informed it needed to be requested. There was no mention or note of this anywhere. When it was serviced, trash was not emptied, the hotel tray for breakfast was left in the room no idea why this is usually grabbed, toilet paper was not refilled nor was tissue paper. Getting to the hotel is quite the experience as well. It is right off the highway. Your GPS or Maps will just say turn right. There is no true turn lane and no warning the hotel is coming up, it’s just there suddenly. Getting out can also be a tricky too. It’s a one way highway still getting out. This place seems to be quite the hangout too. There was always a cab or some sort of individual there to hangout and BS with the people at the desk. Security seems a little lax. Overall, the desk people are nice, and the proximity to the stadiums is nice, but you can definitely do better when looking for a Holiday Inn Express in the Kansas City area. I will not stay here again. I cannot believe this is a Holiday Inn. Worst one I’ve ever seen.
