Hotels Near Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic in Kandy

When I opened the room, there was a musty smell. Since it was a view room with a curtain wall on the exterior, the windows could not be opened. The air conditioner had to be turned on at full power for half an hour before the musty smell gradually dissipated. The location is not far from the top of the mountain, far away from Kandy Lake, and the lake cannot be seen from the rooftop observation deck. The facilities are okay, the service attitude is okay, and the food tastes great. Overall not recommended.

Facilities: Not bad Hygiene: clean Environment: very quiet Service: Very attentive. The only bad thing is that they do not have 24-hour front desk service. If you book late at night, it is easy to find someone, and you can’t get through when you call.

Breakfast is quite rich, 88 points. Can't you add an extra bed? Suitable for children. The hotel is located on the top of the mountain, and you can see half of the city of Kandy. The scenery is elegant, the flowers and birds are scented, and the monkeys are jumping and jumping. There is parking. Hotel service is the best hotel I feel in Sri Lanka.

We stayed at the hotel a few days ago. The room was spacious, and the staff was very attentive (we asked about mosquitoes, and they immediately brought us two repellents to use). The hotel is spacious with many beautiful areas outside the room (a dining area, a bar on the ground floor, and a rooftop bar and viewing platform). There are only 4 rooms in the hotel, so it’s best to book in advance. There were a few minor issues, like the smell from the kitchen when they were cooking and the rather steep road, but these are easily outweighed by the fantastic views from the window, the birds singing in the morning, and the adorable croaking of frogs while dining on the terrace (by the way, we really enjoyed both dinner and breakfast, as well as the fresh juices). The reserved room bedroom has a loft that can sleep 3-4 people. The public areas and rooms are well decorated and maintained. The location is not far from the city center, but close to the road and railway. It is noisy at other times except at night. The hot water switch was hidden in the closet and was not turned on when checking in. There were no additional instructions. The front desk got off work at 10pm and could not be contacted, so I had to take a cold shower. There was a small gecko in the bathtub. Except for the soup, dinner was pretty unpalatable. The two types of fish I ordered were overcooked, dry, bitter, and maybe burnt. When I first checked in at 2 pm, I wanted to have laundry delivered to me. I was told that if I picked it up before departure the next morning, there would be an additional fee. However, I checked into another hotel of the same brand the day before and had laundry delivered at 10 pm the next morning before checking out. Washing, drying and ironing are done for free. What’s also strange is that the front desk helps you fill out the satisfaction survey feedback when leaving the store and asks you to sign it, while the previous one asked you to fill it out realistically. When you see the high score, you are also asked to provide suggestions for improvement. The difference in service awareness is evident.

The room was clean and comfortable. Sitting in the lobby and around the swimming pool is very comfortable, you can be in a daze all day long! The surrounding environment is very good. There is a lake next to the hotel and a small hill opposite. Wake up in the morning and listen to the birds singing, by the way, there are many crows here😄

The hotel itself and its facilities are fantastic. The rooms are nice and the food is absolutely superb. Unfortunately the service in the restaurant was really poor, which made this stay absolutely unpleasant. We were given dirty table cloths (and they didn’t want to replace it after asking for it), our table was given to someone else while we were at the buffet, we had to order drinks several times until finally served, we were given the bill to sign while still eating the main dish (not even dessert) and actually wanted to order more drinks, after being seated, we had to wait min 10 min to place orders for drinks or get silverware etc. From a 5* hotel we definitely expected something better. This is the only hotel during our trip, where we experienced bad service. which is a pity, as otherwise the hotel is really nice. We would not book it again.

W15 was a fantastic experience that it's even hard to put into words. We came for 2 nights and everything was flawless and outstanding: the views, the room, the music, the food, and most specially, the people and the amazing hospitality. Since we arrived, Sheriff, Tharaka, Hastha and Premod were truly professional, kind and would solve anything we asked for. They never gave us a ”no” as an answer. Even when my husband asked if by any chance there was anyone who could get him a haircut in the hotel, they did everything and managed to find a hairdresser from town to come and cut his hair. Other examples: I asked if they had apples, and instead of giving me a ”no” as an answer, they went to get some. I asked if they had dry cleaning service and they coordinated everything so they could send it to a speciallized place in town. We have so many other examples in which they were always making their best to delight us, and they succeeded, exceeding all of our expectations. The property is simply beautiful. You almost feel like you're in a retreat. We were lucky we had to do ”homeoffice” so we had the opportunity of staying in the hotel the entire time and enjoy the calm and feeling of being at home.
