After the hectic experience of Kandy, Elegant Hotel is an oasis of calm, set up on a hill away from the city noises and surrounded by stunning views. The pool is set in a lovely garden with rolling hills as a backdrop and we were lucky enough to have it to ourselves. We had the presidential suite which gave us amazing views from both sides. We had dinner at the hotel which was lovely as was breakfast the next morning especially as a table had been set for us outside under the shade of a tree so we could enjoy the views in comfort. Staff were friendly and welcoming and our only negative was that we were only staying there for one night!

Traumhafte Lage mit tollem Rundumblick. Sehr herzlicher Empfang, super freundliche Bedienung. Essen und Getränke waren ausgezeichnet! Haben anlässlich unseres Hochzeitstages ein freundlich Anerkennung erhalten!! Tolle Zimmer, wir haben als kostenloses Update die Präsidentenzimmer bekommen. Das Elegant Hotel ist mit wenigen Zimmern eine kleine Oase außerhalb von Kandy, liebevoll eingerichtet vom Besitzer mit wunderschönen Details. Wir bewohnten die Präsidenten Suite ,sehr luxuriös mit herrlichem Blick über die Landschaft.Das Essen und der Service sind vorzüglich. Wir empfehlen das Hotel mit 5 Sternen.

We loved our stay at the Elegant Hotel - it is a beautiful hotel in gorgeous grounds with stunning views. It is a calm oasis- having only a few rooms and being outside of Kandy (but an easy taxi ride to the Botanical Gardens nearby and the town). We stayed in the presidential room which was gorgeous and had amazing vistas on two sides. The manager Lucky was so friendly, accommodating and clearly knew how to achieve good customer service. The waiter Roshan was another highlight - always welcoming and willing to help- he was there from breakfast to dinner and he never stopped smiling! All of the staff that we met, from the guy sweeping leaves off the immaculate lawn, to the receptionist and security guard were smiling, friendly and service-focused. We have very happy memories of our stay - it’s every bit as good as it looks in the photos and as a family the gorgeous pool with a view was the icing on the cake.

Wir waren vor 6 Jahren bereits in diesem Hotel und hatten sehr gute Erinnerungen daran. Auch dieses Mal wurden wir nicht enttäuscht. Einige Mitarbeitende arbeiten noch immer dort, was meiner Meinung nach auch ein gutes Zeichen ist. Die Mitarbeitenen sind ässerst freundlich und hilfsbereit, aber trotzdem nicht aufdringlich. Wir bek amen ein gratis Upgrade in die Presdential Suite mit einem riesigen Balkon und einer wunderschönen Aussicht auf den Pool und Garten. Der Pool, das Essen, die Ruhe…es passt einfach alles. Man muss wissen, dass dieses Hotel auf einem Hügel liegt und demensprechend etwas schwieriger zu errreichen ist. Alles in allem ein super Ort zum relaxen. Dieses Hotel hätte für mich definitiv 5 Sterne verdient.

This hotel is just beautiful. It is situated in the hills and the views are stunning. From the minute you are greeted with staff wearing bow ties holding a glass of delicious King coconut juice you know you have chosen the best place in Kandy to stay. The rooms are very well appointed and we were upgraded to the Presidential Suite for free and it was luxurious and spacious. The meals were also very good and all staff were super friendly and went out of their way to make our stay memorable. We just loved the Elegant Hotel.

L'hôtel étant presque vide (basse saison), nous avons été upgradé dans la "suite présidentielle". Il s'agit d'une très grande chambre qui fait tout le 3eme étage. Lumière traversante : lever du soleil d'un côté de la chambre et coucher du soleil de l'autre côté. Belle piscine, personnel de salle très compétent et aimable, literie de qualité, ... et les massages proposés par l'hôtel sont juste incroyables (25 eur/heure environ...a faire absolument). Les prix pratiqués par le restaurant sont très raisonnables. Possibilités de payer par carte de crédit, ce qui est rare au Sri Lanka.

Such a peaceful and relaxing stay, just the tonic after a few days in Colombo. Staff are incredibly welcoming and always willing to chat or offer advice. Upgrade to the Presidential suite was very welcome and allows a 360 degree view of the whole area. Love to come back some day
