Tourist settlement was build according to the plans of the architect Vlasto Kopac (1964), the cottages are built in the unique style and are in their appearance very similar to the herdsmen's cottages.This is a trip high in the mountains. We do not recommend to go up with suitcases with rollers (it's very useless). It's better to go up with backpacks.Parking: You leave the car on the parking at the bottom station of cable car.You go up by cable car and double seat lift (read the instructions below). In case of fog, you will not find the chalet without Gps.Nearby Ljubljana and only few kilometres from the town Kamnik is located the bottom station of the cable car to Velika planina, which takes you amongst the green pastures of the mountain plateau in the heart of the Kamnik Alps.We recommend that you walk to the herdsmen's settlement and feel the simple way of the herdsmen's life, taste their dairy products and admire the unique architecture of the cottages which define Velika planina.
