Hotel ribmaxＢＵＤＧＥＴKagoshima is a business hotel located in Ogawa CHO, Kagoshima City, Kagoshima Prefecture. On April 5, 2022, I walked through Shiroyama Park. From there, I drove to Hotel ribmaxＢＵＤＧＥＴ Kagoshima. There was a three-dimensional parking lot at the back of the super center Nissimta, which was a designated parking lot. However, the parking lot of Shiroyama Park was lonely and the toilet was near the slope, so I didn't want to stay in the car. So I searched on my smartphone and found here. For tourists, you will like the hotel. It’s centrally-located and reasonably priced. But for me, this is my 2nd Richmond Hotel this week, and like Yokohama four days ago, the check in experience at the Kagoshima Richmond Kinseicho was just as bad. I arrived at the hotel at 1 and asked in Japanese for them to hold my bag until checkin. No problem and I left. I came back about 3:30 to check in. I claimed my bag and gave my name in Japanese. She found my reservation then immediately asked for my passport. I simply said “No”. She looked at me like I didn’t hear her then went to the back room to get another woman who I guess can speak English. Before the second one could say anything I explained in Japanese that I am not a tourist and if she would just check my reservation on the computer in front of her she would have known that. It is insulting to ask permanent residents (I am one.) for identification when checking in, especially our passport, which we do not carry around inside Japan (any more than a Japanese person would traveling Japan). The law specifies we are to be checked in as residents just as Japanese people are. And this, again, is the 2nd time this week I have explained the Japanese hotel law to Richmond hotel staff who should know better. And when this happens, no matter how good your hotel is the stay will not be pleasant because I won’t forget the insult. I’m speaking to you in Japanese and you still assume I am a tourist? How many fluent middle-aged white guys do you see in a year who are tourists? Come on Richmond, use some common sense and stop lumping residents and tourists in the same pile. It’s disrespectful to those of us for whom Japan is home. We are not the same as tourists. I like Richmond Hotels, but I have plenty of hotel choices available to me, and have stayed at Richmond at least four times this past year. Until you stop othering foreign residents as the same as visiting tourists I won’t be staying at this Richmond or any other going forward.

The most comfortable and largest room for four people or a family. There are a lot of shops, a tram stop and many places where you can eat deliciously nearby. You can walk to the ferry to Sakurajima. Overall, I recommend it.

2023年4月10日利用。 場所は鹿児島の繁華街でもある電停(路面電車)天文館の駅前で、バスの停車前にもありランドマーク的な存在だとも言えるかと思います。 確かに1階にはショッピングモールがあったり、最近のホテルという感じで、改装か新築された印象で館内は綺麗でした。 構造は7階がフロントで、8階から14階が客室。15階がレストランで朝飯もこちらになり、天気の良い日は桜島も見え、鹿児島らしい地元の料理が出た点では文句無いかと思います。 しかし減点となったのは以下の点 ●ホテルの車止めが無いところ 駐車場が少し離れたところにあるため荷物がある場合、どうしても車止めは必要かと思います。もう構造上仕方ないのですが、車で来た場合重い荷物を運ぶのにはやや辛いかなという印象を受けました。 ●提携駐車場がやや遠い チェックアウトの時晴れてる(雨天ではない場合)なら特段問題ないのですけど、雨が降っていたらややキツいかなと言う印象を受けました。 ●朝のレストラン 内容は問題ないのですが名物「鶏飯」(けいはん)目当てに来ている宿泊者が多いと思います。 しかし、補充が足りないというか出汁と米だけ残っており、具材補充の頻度が遅いかなという印象。 食材を大切にする気持ちは理解しますけど少し疑問が ●廊下の音響問題 たまたまなんですけど夜23時頃の話。 フロント階にタバコを吸いに行った時、廊下を歩いていると他の室内からですが中の音が聞こえて来たのには少し閉口してしまいました。 場所柄もあるのか解りませんが所謂オトナのお遊びの音なんですけど、防音はもう少し何とかして欲しいかなと感じました。 色々書きましたが、基本室内もレストランも綺麗ですし鹿児島では悪くないレベルのホテルかと思います。 確かに鹿児島では城山とかサンロイヤルが有名ですけど、便利性、値段を勘案するとこの先良いホテルになるのではないかと期待しております

The public bath uses Fine Ten Water, and those with sensitive skin will feel the effects immediately. I also found Refa's shower head to be very comfortable to use, probably because the water pressure was higher than what I use at home. Use the hair dryer and your styling will look better than usual. Also, the room was equipped with a clothes deodorizer, and I was curious about this home appliance, so I was glad I was able to try it out. People who go to yakiniku etc. for dinner will probably find it very popular. The rooms are comfortable, but the public bath is recommended.

It is a business hotel located in the downtown Tenmonkan in Minami Kyushu, but it was only called ”Rem”, and I was able to sleep well as rarely for me to sleep until I was woken up by the alarm clock. The city trams and buses are running on the road right in front of me, but I didn't care about the noise at all. １ I had breakfast at the talis in the building because it was breakfast for the night, but it was quite well organized and substantial. I was able to choose from hot dog pancake toast.

Hotel is quite a distance from the Kagoshima station. As there were 4 adults, we decided to cab upon arrival. With 4 luggage’s it was abit challenging, 2L and 2M luggage sizes. Thankfully our cab driver allowed one of us to hold the lighter luggage in our lap and took us all to the hotel. Leaving we encountered a very rude taxi driver outside the hotel. He bullied us and took one luggage and put into his trunk. Signalled another cab to come pick the rest of us and literally threw our second luggage to the other cab. Shocked us. He insisted only 2 passengers and one luggage and demanded ¥1,000 fare not meter. Very very bad experience with Japanese taxi driver outside Kagoshima Washington hotel. Hotel wise staff tried very hard to converse in English and very helpful as we arrived on New Year’s Eve. Room was small and clean.

The hotel is a short distance from the Shinkansen station,( trolley stop N11). Take the trolley to N8 . The breakfast was very good and the burgers are great for lunch. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially Waki, who was a great help for me applying for a visa.
