Conflicted about our stay here. Many positives, one massive negative, and one minor drawback. We arrived on a Wednesday afternoon, and our rooms were not ready at check-in time. The staff was delightful, offering water, pool access, information about Joshua Tree Park, the local area, and places to eat. Unfortunately, the delayed access to our rooms caused a delay in our visiting the Park. We finally were assigned our Airstreams. They were tidy, with the basics. Amenities outside include picnic tables, firepits, and Adirondack chairs. Auto Camp is quirky and cute, despite the setting being adjacent to the main road. This can be ignored as the grounds are lovely, the pool inviting, etc. What is an absolute ATROCITY and can not be forgiven is that the air conditioning units are DEAFENING. This is not an exaggeration. Despite wearing noise-canceling headphones, there was no relief from the ear-splitting racket. The temperatures were in the 100s during the day and 90s at night, so turning the units off was not an option. This ruined our sleep for the night. Despite the HORRENDOUS AC units, the stay was mostly pleasant. The staff is wonderful!
