I read some bad reviews and chalked it up to people expecting too much from the hotel. I should have listened and you should listen to my review and go elsewhere. I am literally lying in the bed typing this now. It couldn't wait. No on-site parking, you have to walk down a sketchy street to get your car($24 per day for self parking) There was exactly 2 parking spaces to park fir check in. One is occupied by a shuttle so there is one space. It's a busy street with one lane each way so getting into the one space was difficult. The area seems less than desirable. Low end shops and fast food. Crazy guy screamed at my wife and I so she wanted to come back to the hotel. I wouldn't be comfortable having my wife or kids here by themselves. Finally the room SUCKS, the bed is decent, bathroom seems ok. But it smells like mold. I feel like I am in basement that recently flooded. I am on the 5th floor not near the basement. Looks like an extremely cheap room makeover. Painted over damaged doors and walls. When I first stepped into the room it felt like I was going to fall thru the floor. A big super soft spot under the carpet. One of the dressers is missing the top drawer. I don't think the heat is working, it's 62 in the room and like 50 outside. You can tell they tried to cover the smell with something but it's not working. Do yourself a favor and pay a little more and stay somewhere nicer. Good luck

I would not even consider staying here. We brought our kids to New York City for the first time so we were not familiar with the area at all. We arrived early so we could possibly leave our car and take alternative transportation into the city.good luck with very limited parking in that lot. I’d you arrive later in the evening plan on parking further out. The area is very run down which felt unsafe to us. Upon entering the hotel we noticed just how dirty it actually was from the front of the hotel to the check in desk. It looked like no one has cleaned it in months. We talked to the front desk to inquire about canceling due to feeling unsafe and the hotel just seeming not clean. We were told they were sold out for the night however they would not allow us to cancel. I even called IHG reservations who tried to get them to allow us to cancel however they refused. It seems to me if they were fully booked they would allow us to cancel at 9 am. Very disappointed in this location.

The transportation is very convenient. There is a bus stop at the door. It takes 10 minutes to get to the city by one stop. There is also a cruise ship at the door. It takes 8 minutes to get to the city by cruise ship. The breakfast is very delicious. It is made to order. I especially recommend the food in the hotel restaurant. I feel that it is worth the money and it is very delicious. The lobster pasta is amazing!

We were so pleased to stay at the Best Western even without any reservation. The hotel was clean, comfortable and everyone was kind and professional. The breakfast was delicious and I recommend it. We encountered a very pleasant employee by the name of Angelique. She literally made us feel at home and that’s what every visitor appreciates. The price was affordable especially in this time which is hard to find. So we give this hotel 5 stars which we rarely do.

The room is a suite with one bedroom and one living room. Although the suites are not very large, they have all the facilities. It is worth mentioning that the sofa has a built-in folding bed, and the bedroom has a door, so that 3 to 4 people can stay without being disturbed; The hotel includes breakfast; the ferry is 100 meters away from the door, and it is very convenient to go to downtown Manhattan.

Despite booking a bed in a 12-bed room, I was pleasantly surprised by the spaciousness and the daily cleaning routine carried out by the diligent hostel staff. Adding to the positive experience, the Hi New York hostel's location proved to be exceptionally convenient for exploring major destinations. The hostel's close proximity to a subway station, just a 2-minute walk away, made traveling around the city a breeze. This accessibility enhanced the overall convenience of my stay, allowing me to easily reach and explore various attractions without any hassle. The strategic location near the subway station was undoubtedly a valuable asset for anyone looking to make the most of their time in the city. We stayed here as one of stops during our road trip. It’s so hard to find a safe, clean modern hotels within budget in the area we were traveling to. We decided to pick this hotel based on travelers pictures and reviews. Yes, the hotel is outdated but not as bad. The bathroom looks like ones in 90’s. The carpets especially in hallways looked to be updated. Having said that, the hotel in surprisingly clean particularly the bathroom. I used to work in a hotel before and recently stayed at a courtyard hotel in another town and I could see some mildew / mold in shower but I didn’t see any in this outdated looking bathroom - Kudos to housekeeping team! In terms of parking, I saw ‘park at your own signs at parking lot. Not sure what it means but just want to give a heads up to everyone planning to stay here. Having said that, our stay was safe and comfortable overall.

We were at this hotel for one night. There was a power failure which affected the hotel, and of course, this was not the hotel's fault, although it did result in inconvenience and discomfort to our stay. In addition, some guests were having a noisy party just outside the front entrance which was loud enough to keep me awake in the middle of the night -- our room was a few floors up overlooking the party. I felt that we deserved either compensation or credit for a future stay at a Hilton property, so I went to speak to the manager in the morning. However, there was a long line of people waiting to complain to the manager, and we had to leave, so I didn't get to speak with him. I subsequently emailed the manager 3 times to ask for compensation and he never replied. I called 5 times and the manager was supposedly never there. Finally, I spoke to the assistant manager. He listened attentively assured me that someone would get back to me. That was two weeks ago. I am very disappointed in this poor customer service and unprofessional behavior of their managerial staff.

Long way to the shuttle bus point and waiting more than 30 minutes for the next pick up. Other than this inconveniences, everything is ok in the hotel.
