All in all, it was a good place to stay. It feels like a boutique hotel and it looks nicely decorated in the lobby. The room was also nice. There were some touchups that could be done around the tile near the bathtub, but it looked very clean. The bed was extremely comfortable. The sound does carry, but the lady at check in told me that there was a wedding that night which would be over around 10 and it was. It was quiet after that and I slept well. Breakfast was good with eggs, potatoes, bacon, bagels, assorted muffins and yogurt. It was certainly hearty enough. The courtyard looked lovely. It was right next to the pier on the beach. No complaints there. There are also other restaurants and shops close by. I would stay again for a nice beach day.

One of my most interesting hotel stays in over 30 years. Initial booking was quoted at a competitive rate, but when I received the booking confirmation, it was much higher. When I questioned why, the desk clerk claimed she had made a mistake in calculating the rates; fortunately I was able to come to a compromise with her. I checked in around 5pm on a Thursday, the lobby was quiet, and the front desk person was on a long phone call with someone trying to book rooms; so my wait was a little long. My initial impression of the room was less than acceptable, but since it was a relatively short trip, I'd just ride it out. Note that the room had a few shortcomings: 1. no ironing board or iron in the room - when I requested one with the desk girl, she said she would have to go look for one - never received it 2. no coffee mugs for a morning coffee 3. dust buildup on the vent 4. no closet doors - granted, this is a historic hotel, but not an excuse to not have doors 5. possible mold in the bathroom shower - I've shared pictures 6. towels are the most inexpensive quality - but functional nonetheless 7. no ice maker on any floor - you will need to go to the bar for ice 8. no bottles of ice water in the room as you would typically see in other hotels Also know that this hotel is a popular night spot as the rooftop bar/restaurant hosts DJs on the weekend. People were talking loudly in the halls and making noise to the late hours on the weekend. The morning continental breakfast is ok and enough to get you going; but don't expect anything beyond basic.

Worst experience ever. We Left hotel in first 15 minutes. It was a scam. It’s not a hotel, it’s a night club- very loud music with DJ at 4 PM!- Walls was shaking!Going to call a Priceline want my money back. Don’t recommended to anyone, stay away from them.

Shame on the naysayers, this is a quaint historic inn with an excellent location, accommodating staff , comfortable rooms and wonderful breakfast. If you are expecting the Ritz, stay at the Ritz. Furthermore, if you have nothing good to say, say nothing at all, especially if you haven't asked to speak with the general manager to allow the complaints to be addressed and rectified. Come on people, it's the hospitality industry, no matter if restaurant, hotel or ice cream shop, if your not satisfied with the product, at least give management the opportunity to make it right or stop your whining. Also keep in mind that when you point your finger at someone, you have three fingers pointed back at yourself. I am a retired resort ops professional team leader who spent the bulk of his career at resorts in the Caribbean, have won many industry awards including one of the most coveted in the hospitality industry. I have had the pleasure to stay at this hotel three times in the last five weeks while in Jacksonville on personal business, I will be making weekly trips to Jacksonville for the next several months and the Casa Marina is where I will be staying. A definite pearl, in the Jacksonville beach sand! My hat is off to the team at the Casa Marina for keeping the lights on at this grand historic inn, sharing with us her past and believing in her future. Sincerely, Dean H Morris

A great one-night stay directly on the beach. The hotel is old, historic, and does not offer a modern hotel stay but the bed was very comfortable, the room was very clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful. If you appreciate a good value and aren't looking for the typical hotel chain experience, I would recommend you give them a try. But, if you need that new car smell at your hotel, spend the extra $200 instead of staying here and giving a bad review!

Casa Marina is a nice event venue, but not a great hotel. 1). Parking is across the street in a small ***** mall. Good luck finding a parking spot on a weekend. 2). NOISE. Hotel rooms on 3 sides of event area outside. Loud noise heard everywhere, until well after midnight. 3rd floor bar, and door to interior stairwell is propped open( fire and safety hazard), allowing noise and patrons access to halls in hotel. It does have key card access if it were closed. AVOID ROOMS 214 and 216 at all costs. They are next to stairwell. 3). Rooms are small and with comfortable beds. No full length mirrors, irons or ironing boards in rooms. Keurig coffee maker, hair dryer, and refrigerator in room. Age was showing in my room, but adequate. 4). Front desk staff not service oriented. Charged my credit card for entire stay at time of check-in. Unresponsive to noise, fire, and security concerns. 5). Food and setting for event was wonderful. Excellent waitstaff! 6). Housekeepers very pleasant and helpful. Would I stay here again or recommend? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!

This review is for the restaurant at the beach alone- while everything was gorgeous, the restaurant, the view, the decorating. The service was god awful. I don’t know if they don’t have enough servers or what, but both tables next to us also were saying it was the worst service they’ve had. I walked up to the bar to get a drink because the service was that slow. This is coming from 4 people that work in the service industry- in key west! I really hope they make a change because we really enjoyed the vibe.

The room was a decent size but can definitely use some attention especially in the bathroom. This establishment is a wedding venue and you can hear the festivities in your room….all night. The front desk staff was not overly helpful and we felt as if we were a bother. Good continental breakfast. Parking was a real nightmare.
