It was my first visit to Dallas. I searched mainly for 5-star hotels among many hotels. I made a reservation because it was a four-season hotel, and I liked the location and the surrounding atmosphere.

The environment is very good, suitable for families with children, but it is best to drive by yourself

Great hotel with helpful staff, top-notch amenities and meeting facilities. I enjoyed the lobby coffee shop and access to the neighboring gym facilities (with pool, paddle ball courts etc.). Also appreciated the turn down service. Would definitely stay here again.

How can this be a Ritz? Apparently it has changed hands many times. The rooms were pretty well-sized but the service was spartan. They had signs about being charged if you take the shampoo etc. Room service for a basic single order took 45 minutes, came without utensils or napkin. They skipped turndown service one night. The a/c was SO loud, and golf course maintenance vehicles were audible too early. The shower has terrible water pressure. However, the gym facility was very large and easily accessed.

I had such high hopes upon making the reservation. I had stayed at the Ritz property in downtown Dallas a few years ago and was blown away. It was such a solid, classy property. They hit all of the right notes for a high end experience from the staff to the room to the restaurant to the bar. Everything was a top notch experience. I am really disappointed to say that Las Colinas misses this mark. . .not just by a little bit but by a lot. It is a former property of a competitor that was purchased and rebranded as a Ritz Carlton. The check in went well. Well trained and professional desk staff. The first disappointment of the two days was walking into the room. Absolutely nothing special about the room. It could have been a Holiday Inn. Small for Dallas standards. As a Bonvoy member, I am used to checking into the room with my name on the television screen as a welcome. The tv said, 'Welcome, Tommie. . ' I am not Tommie. For the price that I paid, I was pretty disappointed with the room size so I thought, 'Oh, maybe they made a mistake and put me in the wrong room.' I called down and told them about the tv message. . . No, I was not in the wrong room. No apology for the wrong name. . .more like a 'oh, my bad!' The one good thing about the room was the bed. A very comfortable king bed. The lighting system in the room was a pretty old 'high tech for its time' system. Multiple lights did not work. However, there seemed to be a short somewhere in the system as one of the lights kept coming on in the middle of the night while sleeping. . bright enough to wake me up both nights at around 3am. We went down to the bar to have a pre-dinner drink and watch some college football that was on a large tv near us. As one game was finishing, we asked the server if they could change it to the next big game coming up on another channel. Instead of changing the channel, he just brought us the remote control and sort of dropped it on the table and kept on walking. We both looked at each other and said 'is this the Ritz?' Service was lacking. . .in a big way. We decided to stay in and eat at the Italian restaurant. It is high end as you'd expect at such a property. The service was very good however the food was average at best. Not a good dinner experience for $162. That was with two glasses of wine. And no meat dishes between the two of us. One other little problem with the room. . .They give you a Nespresso coffee maker which is nice. However, the one in our room was broken. The temperature control in the room is limited to 68 degrees on a/c. Definitely not cool enough for sleeping. An old a/c system that didn't seem to really cool the room down enough. Do not plan on sleeping in. There are no blackout curtains. Just plantation shutters that do not block out the light. I can't imagine staying there on June 22. You'd be woken up by light at 0530. All in all, it is just a fine property if you are paying normal Marriott, Hyatt or Hilton prices. But this is

“Shitz Carlton” I spent over $100k on my wedding at this dump. Yes the Los Colinas Ritz was hands down the the most nightmarish hospitality experience possible—as in there is no redeeming quality, not a single one, had by any operational division of the facility. I can talk about how they never replaced the toilet paper or towels. I can talk about how the garden around the pool, where holes were dug for never planted flowers. I can mention how there is a pervasive smell of fish and poo wafting around the grounds. But why bother? Last night I sat in golf cart until daybreak with security watching over me because there was “no record” I was a guest at the hotel. Yes I had a room key, but the obviously savant night manager confiscated them and then told me I could wait in the lobby until 8am when his boss arrived to sort it out. I actually had to call security on myself for support. While the security team could not have been more gracious, Mr Savant running the graveyard shift (where all the best talent is assigned) kept radioing in for an update to ensure they had “eyes on the object.” Yes I was repeatedly called the “object” instead of the definivetly appropriate “subject.” Just an example of how increbibly bright and exceedingly capable this graveyard shift actually is savant. Oh yeah, for each of the three nights I was there, very similar incidents occurred with the front desk staff. All. Three. Nights. lol so after I drop a hundred grand on my wedding and all this happens, the GM, a real tough guy of obviously outstanding achievement, offers to comp me a night?????? Joke was on him, because I set up a face to face meeting, not to ask for a single thing, but rather to inform this impressive bunch of administrators they really weren’t so impressive after all. Then agan, I was never shown any credential or proof of their employment, and now that I think of it, this group of admin staff spoke and dressed so poorly, it seemed as if they were pulled straight off the streets or from A half way house. TLDR: This is not a Ritz Carlton, so unless you just want to tell your friends you “stayed at ritz” whilst lying to yourself about the reality of accommodations, do not waste your time, energy, self-esteem. To the Ritz Corportate staff: You have my number, but do you have the courage to hold yourselves accountable by way of formal apology? I wonder…

This property is just not up to what I would expect to be Ritz standards. There were so many small things that tarnished the stay. My room did not have a phone, an iron, ANY trash cans, the sink didn't drain, the toilet seat was broken, the bathroom door didn't shut and the light in the closet would not turn off. These are individually minor things, but even a 1-star property shouldn't have these issues. I couldn't call anyone because I didn't have a phone. I finally reached the hotel on my cell and maintenance brought me a phone, but I gave up after tallying so many problems with the room itself. Not a 5-star Ritz experience in any way.

A weekend staycation seemed like a great time to check this place out. We started off well with a wonderful upgrade to a villa room and a great shuttle ride out to our building. After dinner at Knife (exceptional service, average food) we headed back for the room for the night. The turn down service was lovely. The room itself had issues. The plugs on one side of the bed didn’t work so no charging cables would work. And the layout of the room is such that, if you are hot sleeper, no air flows over the bed, making for a rough night. The room has a huge patio but zero furniture so no sitting on the patio and relaxing. We spent the next day by the lovely pool. It was a little dirty, which was surprising. The drinks came relatively quickly but our food order didn’t get put in so that was disappointing. We made our way back to the room to clean up to head to a show in Dallas and the room hadn’t been refreshed. No big deal, we figure they’ll do it at the turn down service (spoiler alert, no turn down service or refresh on Saturday). We called to try to have our car pulled up and no one answered the phone after numerous calls. None of these things are huge deals. But at a Ritz you expect superb service and quality and here it is definitely hit or miss.

I had the pleasure of spending quite a bit of time at the Ritz-Carlton Dallas, Las Colinas for an event my company hosted. I was able to interact with much of the staff - from management to banquet to front desk and valet. The property, the pool, the spa and the rooms are all beautiful - but the staff is OUTSTANDING. Truly some of the most wonderful, friendly, helpful and even funny staff I've ever worked with. Adam and Adriana the managers were warm, attentive and were always there for warm and enjoyable conversation as they helped out with all of our needs. Kurt at concierge went above and beyond to track down a missing package and always offered a warm greeting when I saw him. Murad at the front desk, never without a huge smile, was one of the most cheerful, helpful and professional people I've ever met at a front desk (as was all of rest of the front desk staff.) And the banquet staff - the true unsung heroes who bent over backwards for both our staff and guests. Just wow. The entire team for catering/banquet/bar, every single one, went above and beyond with service and kindness. If you're considering staying here or hosting an event here, just know it is going to be beautiful and enjoyable... but know even more YOU WILL BE TAKEN CARE OF WITH THE HIGHEST STANDARD OF SERVICE. Thank you, Ritz-Carlton Dallas Las Colinas.
