This is the second time we have stayed here as an overnight stop between Orkney and Mull. It's easy to find, and despite being on a main road is quiet. We had a huge bedroom with a super-comfortable bed and we were very grateful for the window blinds as well as curtains so the room didn't get too light in the morning. I ate in the bar from the specials menu, and the food was excellent, a bit 'different', well cooked and presented. The standard menu looked good as well. Breakfast was served in a different room from the bar with a small, but good selection - the poached haddock was lovely! It's a lovely hotel, with friendly staff. My husband was unwell and there was no heating on in the bedroom but as soon as I asked, it was switched on. However, the radiator really wasn't adequate for the size of room we had and so didn't really make a lot of difference. However, I'm sure in the winner the heating will be on for longer, we'd had awkward warm/cold weather that week so I appreciate it was difficult to know what to do for the best. All in all an enjoyable stay and I'd be happy to stay again - although I do find the practice of taking the balance of monies for the room 14 days before your stay a little odd, this is the only hotel I've found with this practice.
