"This hotel is great! The room looks exactly like the pictures online. The location is super convenient for getting around. They even rent out electric scooters on-site, and the staff are really helpful with directions. As someone from Malaysia who isn't familiar with the area, renting a scooter and following their explanations and maps was no problem at all 😂.
They also offer a shuttle service to Lijiang, which is really cost-effective and convenient. They pick you up right at the entrance. You can ask the friendly guys at the front desk – it's truly a one-stop service! 👍🙏

It's incredibly peaceful and relaxing! I highly recommend booking here! It's super close to the South Gate of the old town, which is perfect for an evening stroll and experiencing the night market. "I stumbled upon Sheyu Courtyard when I was first deciding where to stay. Seeing that they had cats and dogs, I figured any owner who loves animals couldn't be bad, and I was right! It was absolutely amazing! The experience was incredible! The guys working at the homestay were all super enthusiastic! The room was fantastic in every way – clean and comfortable! Their latex pillows were especially comfy 😌. The staff actively helped with our luggage 🧳 and even shared sightseeing tips, which was super thoughtful! I particularly remember a small detail during check-in: my ID didn't have a cover, and after registering my information, one of the guys put a cover on it for me. This little detail really stuck with me! I loved all the cats and dogs in the courtyard, especially Niu Niu (the cow)! I took pictures of every one of them so I could have memories to look back on. On our last day, I specifically set aside some time to play with the little guys in the courtyard – it was so hard to leave! I will definitely be back again! Oh, and the steamed buns and dumplings from the breakfast place across the street were also delicious! They were freshly made!"

"For the price we paid we received a premium room. It was so clean and the beds were so comfortable. The only issue was that the bathroom didn’t have a separation between the wet and dry area but we did not care cause we only paid $11 and we had a wonderful time. the location was excellent and the space was so clean and peaceful. We loved it."

"The hotel was in a very convenient and prime location just at the entrance of Dali Ancient City. There are a lot of food options and convenience stores just right outside the hotel both during the day and at night.
The service was inpeccable, with the hotel owner helping to carry my luggage to my room or to the car, or to help me with transport arrangements etc. The room was also clean and cosy, with all the listed amenities. Would recommend for sure!"

Everything about this hotel is beautiful, from the interior to the exterior, every corner feels thoughtfully designed and aesthetically pleasing. The ambience really adds to the whole Dali experience.
The location is perfect. It’s right in Dali Ancient City, near the South Gate, so everything is within walking distance. For Muslim travellers, it’s also very convenient as there are halal food options nearby, making it easy to find meals.
The service was truly top-notch. One thoughtful gesture that stood out was how they prepared breakfast for us during check-out, just to make sure we didn’t leave on an empty stomach. S

"The owner was really welcoming and proactive, adding me on WeChat before check-in to address any needs promptly. The chicken noodle soup for breakfast was absolutely delicious; I barely had an appetite, but felt much better after eating it. The complimentary afternoon tea was also a nice touch. Our room was on the second floor, and while the view from the window was a bit obstructed by trees, it was still a great room overall, especially perfect for relaxing on the terrace and tatami mat. The rooftop view was fantastic. Overall, a wonderful experience!"

"The Guyue Xianlai Hotel is probably the closest hotel to the entrance and exit within Ideal Bang Santorini. Santorini is huge and has many hotels. I chose this one because of its high ratings, and it definitely lived up to expectations. Outside vehicles aren't allowed past the main gate, so I notified the butler 10 minutes in advance for the shuttle to pick me up. The hotel is very welcoming, the room is spacious, and breakfast is a set menu with fruit, rice noodles, noodles, coffee, and milk, all of which were good. The hotel environment is excellent and peaceful, and the rooms are pure white. It's also convenient for exploring, though the steep slopes outside might be challenging for older guests with mobility issues. The hotel service is great; since there's no elevator, the butler helped carry my luggage to the room. Overall, it was an excellent experience. The surrounding area is also fantastic. I even decided to skip visiting Shuanglang and Wase. Five-star rating!"

"The landlady's cooking is excellent! We thought the tangyuan (glutinous rice balls) and other dishes were pre-made, but it turns out she made everything herself. Highly recommended! You can also enjoy the owner's tea freely. In the afternoons, the proprietress would bring snacks to treat us, and we even had New Year's Eve dinner together. It's very close to the ancient town but not noisy at all. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a slow-paced, long-term stay."

I've been to Dali many times, and this hotel offers excellent value for money, especially with the great breakfast. There's also a direct drinking water dispenser in the room. JJovin_WongI had an absolutely wonderful stay at Dali Ancient Town Meishan Guesthouse, and it exceeded my expectations in every possible way.
Location – unbeatable and worry-free
The location is extremely convenient, right in the heart of Dali Ancient Town. As soon as you step outside, you’re surrounded by beautiful ancient streets and alleys, full of local character. 2-3 mins walk away from the Bars. Attractions, cafes, shops, and amazing food are all within walking distance, which made exploring incredibly easy and stress-free. From check-in to check-out, the entire stay felt completely worry-free.
Service – warm, genuine, and unforgettable
The biggest highlight of this guesthouse is without a doubt the host. The lady boss is unbelievably friendly, considerate, and welcoming. She is super nice, enthusiastic, and very meticulous in everything she does. From contacting me in advance, patiently explaining routes, to sharing travel tips and local suggestions, she made me feel taken care of even before I arrived. Staying here truly felt like coming home rather than staying at a guesthouse.
What made this stay truly special was the personal connection. She even invited me to join a barbecue with her and her friends. We had drinks, chatted late into the night, and shared stories about our cultures, life views, and experiences. Even though I only stayed for two nights, that evening made my time in Dali unforgettable. I felt incredibly lucky to have arrived back just in time for the barbecue.
The Bai Jiu, the Yi Zu-style barbecue pork, and the homemade dumplings she made were all fantastic. The atmosphere was relaxed, warm, and full of laughter. Even small details were fun, like the pot cover shaped like the Rolls-Royce Spirit of Ecstasy, which gave us a good laugh. It was one of those nights you don’t plan for, but it’s the highlight of the trip that you will remember for a long time. 😎
Room & Sleep Quality – quiet, comfortable, and well designed
The room itself was quiet and very comfortable, with good sound insulation and a thoughtful renovation design that blends modern comfort with traditional charm. The bedding was clean and high quality, and the bathroom was spotless and well equipped. I slept extremely well every night. The entire guesthouse is beautifully designed, cozy, and relaxing, making it easy to unwind after a day of exploring.
Value – exquisite and worth every penny
This is a highly cost-effective and exquisite accommodation. You can see the attention to detail everywhere, from the design to the service. It perfectly balances the charm of the ancient town with modern convenience. It’s absolutely worth experiencing, and I would not hesitate to stay here again on my next trip.
Final thoughts
I returned home a few days ago, but when I think back on my trip to Yunnan, Dali still stands out as the most chill and relaxing place and Meishan Guesthouse is a big reason why. The friendly host, the warm atmosphere, and the meaningful conversations made this stay truly special.
If I could give 11 stars, I would. Hands down one of the best places I’ve ever stayed. Highly, highly recommended. Will definitely be back!!!

The complimentary airport and train station transfers are a huge plus, and the service is incredibly warm and enthusiastic. They proactively help with all your luggage, big or small. The transfer vehicles are also very comfortable and spotless. Upon check-in, everything in the room is free except for the red wine – instant noodles, drinks, beer, water, coffee, yogurt, and Yunnan black tea are all complimentary. They bring a generous amount of fresh fruit daily, and there's 24-hour rice noodle service, which is a lifesaver for anyone not accustomed to local food; you'll never go hungry. Every evening, there's also tremella soup available. The front desk even has complimentary snacks, fruits, and flower cakes for guests to enjoy. And the room itself? Speechless. The videos and photos on their website are an exact, 1:1 representation of the actual rooms – absolutely no photo trickery. What you see is precisely what you get. The room is impeccably clean, and the array of amenities is extensive. My parents are usually quite picky about hotels, but they absolutely adored this one, praising everything from the room facilities to the balcony views and the spaciousness of the suite. They insisted that on their next trip to Dali, they must stay here again. And most importantly, the staff – from the front desk to the transfer drivers, the F&B team, the ladies who help with luggage, the gentlemen who deliver rice noodles and tremella soup at night, and the three cleaning ladies – everyone is incredibly polite, enthusiastic, and friendly. The owner of this hotel is truly fortunate to have assembled such a fantastic team. The hotel's location, combined with the suite facilities and the wonderful staff, makes for a top-tier experience. I wholeheartedly recommend that everyone visiting Dali *must* stay at this hotel at least once – it's absolutely worth every penny!

The huge window gave us a wonderful view and the old town was a short lively walk straight down the hill. The only problem we had was when we had to leave early on the morning. We were locked in and couldn't phone anyone to come and unlick the door. This is also a fire hazard. Anyhow if they could work out a better system it would be perfect.

GGuest UserWe had a comfortable five nights stay at this hotel. It is located on the South Gate of the ancient town. The lady boss greeted us as soon as we alighted from the taxi and helped us with our luggage. She even got ready a fruit basket for us when we checked in. She gave us helpful advise and helped us book a driver to take us around to different places of interest a bit further away from Dali ancient town. The same driver then drove us to Shaxi and dropped us off in Lijiang.
The hotel has a washing machine with complementary washing liquid. And a patio area where we dry our clothes.
The hotel is opposite a bustling market with lots of food and restaurants around. I love to walk around the market everyday just to see all the different fruit and vegetables on sale. The main night market is just 5 minutes walk away and it has a lot of interesting street food and restaurants .
I would definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends.

Step outside and you're greeted with breathtaking sea views – perfect for photos! The guesthouse service is incredibly attentive and thoughtful, and the owner is warm and reliable, making our stay very comfortable. There are also super cute little cats here, gentle and affectionate, adding so much warmth and a sense of healing. The breakfast rice noodles are absolutely delicious too! 😋

The experience was fantastic. I parked my car at the Peninsula parking lot, and the guesthouse staff came to pick us up directly. The moment I saw the room, I was completely captivated.
The location is superb – perfect for sightseeing, exploring the ancient town, and just a 50-meter walk to the boat dock. Restaurants are right downstairs.
The guesthouse provides daily breakfast, afternoon tea, and even a goodnight milk service. When I bought food back in the evening, the staff helped me with plates and even stored leftovers in the fridge. I'll definitely be back next time! Honestly, I highly recommend it!
