The experience was a huge disappointment. We arrived at the hotel on 04/08/2024, for a period of 4 nights. At reception, there was a first discomfort: there was a strong smell of damp. We checked in, paid for the 4 nights and were shown to our room. The accommodation, which was next to the reception, was very close to the entrance and there was a lot of noise from cars. As the attendant told us that there were only us in the hotel, we asked to change rooms to a quieter one. He presented us with two options: one that had the same strong damp smell as the reception and another, which was ok and was our choice. The towels and bed linen did not smell good. This bothered us. The next morning, at the cafe, another disappointment: food that had clearly been served for days, cheese bread that looked reheated, cold cuts that looked strange, dry cakes. We opted for tapioca, which seemed like the freshest option, as it was made fresh. After a day at the beach, we tried to contact reception via the room phone, which wasn't working. Until then, the hotel that calls itself a “boutique” was a top-notch experience for us. Things went wrong when we had to leave the hotel early due to an unforeseen event. The employees clearly started misinformation and created all kinds of difficulties for refunds. We spoke to the morning attendant, who said that the evening one would solve it. When we went to talk to the night guy, he said that only the morning guy could solve it. Upon leaving, the attendant told us that booking would be responsible for the refund, because the reservation was made there. I disputed this information, because we paid directly to the hotel, but she insisted. Unconvinced, I contacted Booking directly and the platform's attendant was categorical: the refund should be made by the hotel! I confronted the receptionist who started to disagree and only refunded us the amount - with a fee discount - when she realized that we wouldn't leave without resolving the situation. This entire process took almost 2 hours to resolve. We left there feeling like we had been misled since booking. Unfortunate.
